But how can I love it more? Passion for a field is a common trait among all top-level achievers. Noticing this fact, a person can't help himself from the seemingly foolish thought - how do I become more passionate about a field? An answer, I know to this question is - stories. Reading autobiographies, watching documentaries about the lives of those excellers is a way to feel more motivated about the field - to feel more love for the intricacies of it. In my own experience, this idea holds very much. If a few years ago somebody would ask why I was pushing that much, I would say - because I overlistened to the lecture series "Buyuklarning sirlari" by Abdulloh domla. Of course, my all-time favourite autobiography is "Munqidh min al-dhalal" by Al-Ghazali, and I always carry the book "Men of Mathematics". It is lovely to read how Newton would forget to eat properly but think about the universe. Hakimjon aka Saidov gifted me 2 awesome books that he brought from the Northwestern University. 1. The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt 2. Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport I will write several lengthy posts about why these 2 books are so important in our era of declining focus and neglected children (iPad children). These books are also a great resource for learning GRE-level academic vocabulary in a “real-life” setting. This is worth another post to follow. @Abdurashid_writes

Here is an interesting article from the Atlantic about a disturbing trend that professors started noticing: Modern university students don't read books as their peers 2 decades ago. Twenty years ago, Dames’s classes had no problem engaging in sophisticated discussions of Pride and Prejudice one week and Crime and Punishment the next. Now his students tell him up front that the reading load feels impossible. It’s not just the frenetic pace; they struggle to attend to small details while keeping track of the overall plot. What book was the last one that you particularly enjoyed reading?

I love the guest’s stance on the importance of both parents being involved in the process of upbringing their children. This month is not only about "not eating". Its about restoring your faith. Lowering your gaze. Staying productive. One thing I realized is I have everything. My parents, I have the privilege of studying at a good university. However, I am sometimes ungrateful wanting more. But, sometimes I need to relax take it slow and be thankful to all I have. There is a saying you have 99 problems until you have a health problem then you have 1 problem. Lets take this month to be productive, faithful, and just be better as a person. Ramadan Mubarak to everyone!

Here is an interesting article by David Deming, a professor of public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School His idea is that despite Economics becoming more empirical, it is becoming insular and status-obsessed, heavily concentrating in just eight elite universities: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, MIT, the University of Chicago, Columbia, and Berkeley. Meanwhile, other sciences, such as chemistry and engineering, are far more widespread across different institutions in different parts of the world.  He then provides several reasons for the current situation, such as funding being one of the major problems in smaller universities. Here is the overall result. I am pleasantly shocked to see this. I would never expect to get a band 8.0 for writing. All credits should go to my friend Mr. Durbek Nazaraliev, who works at Everest learning center. He was very kind to teach me core concepts and structure of IELTS essays.
