Did you know the spelling of the word rhythm? I thought I did, too.
If you happen to be a teacher and are wondering why teenagers are clueless about life these days, well, don’t be surprised. It’s not a regional issue and the situation is the same everywhere. The current generation is doomed because of negligent parenting and globalization.
The population of many cities is growing rapidly. What are the effects of this growth on people living in these cities? What can be done to maintain their quality of life? Urban population is booming in many parts of the world these days. While the potential consequences may result in lower living standards, I believe that creating more green spaces in cities as well as building more facilities in rural areas would mitigate this issue. It is not uncommon to see thousands of people moving to cities in search of a better life. This is largely a change for the worse as a large number of people mean the demand for more housing increases, making city streets and roads even more overcrowded. This would cause the price of accommodations to soar in urban areas, making it difficult to own a house almost impossible for those who are financially disadvantaged, or young families. A good case in point is Tashkent where a typical family must work for many years just to purchase a two-bedroom apartment thanks to an increased demand for housing. Another downside can be linked with environmental damage. This is because the more people flow into cities, the more transport they require for frequent commuting, which means even more carbon dioxide is released into the air, contributing to air pollution and climate change. Breathing in such polluted air, children may develop respiratory illnesses such as asthma. Living in a densely populated and polluted city can ultimately contribute to an undesirable living experience for urban dwellers. I, however, believe that creating more green spaces such as parks can help minimize this issue, since those places are considered to be the lungs of cities, providing social, mental and physical benefits. People, living in concrete jungles, can spend time in parks after a busy day at work or study, which will give them a chance to reconnect with nature, socialize with others, as well as do sports, all of which improve people’s living standards, and increase a sense of satisfaction they get while residing in crowded cities. For instance, research is clear that taking a simple walk in parks can reduce stress and improve blood circulation, leading to a better life. One other approach to combat this problem involves investing in rural areas. Governments should target root causes of overcrowding which is lack of amenities in suburbs and countryside, because the majority of young people move to cities in pursuit of facilities and convenience. If more universities, shopping malls, and better infrastructure are built in rural areas, people would stay and enjoy their lives instead of moving to cities. In conclusion, although an increase in urban population can compromise living conditions for city population, I am convinced that creating more parks and modernizing rural areas should be prioritized by governments in order to tackle this issue. 8.0

Today family members eat fewer meals together. Is this a positive or negative trend? Admittedly, it is becoming less common for families to share meals together. While this development may seem desirable in some respects, I believe it is largely a change for the worse. It can be argued that having occasional family meals can be favorable. Family gatherings are often time-consuming as they involve time for bonding, which is a nuisance for those pressed for time and burdened with many work and study obligations. As such, time saved from such gatherings can be spent on work, studies and personal recreation, ultimately contributing to greater personal accomplishment and reduced stress. I, however, consider this shift in family traditions to be a cause for concern. The most worrisome implication of this development is the breakdown of family ties. Family meals serve an essential social function – bringing family members together. Thus, the fewer meals a family shares, the fewer chances of bonding they have. Weak family ties, in turn, underlie internal conflicts, poor parenting and even divorce. Equally worrying is the loss of practical skills and family traditions. This is because family meals are often preceded by preparation during which parents teach useful skills to children such as cooking, setting a table and cleaning. Table manners and customs like saying grace, sitting upright and eating quietly are also imparted to children during family gatherings. The absence of such occasions ultimately results in these skills and customs being lost, eventually creating a generation of poorly adjusted adults. In conclusion, while having fewer family meals can be advantageous in the short term, the long-term implications for family structure and society as a whole are seriously concerning.

The bar chart breaks down the gender composition of staff at a particular educational institution in 2008. Overall, while science subjects were mainly dominated by males, females took the lead in social subjects. The share of males was particularly pronounced in Engineering compared to History which was largely female-led. Looking at fields which featured mostly male staff, Engineering was by far the most male dominated subject, with a 9 to 1 ratio in favor of males. Similarly, academic staff was largely made up of males in Astronomy, Law and Science subjects where about 6 out pf 10 teachers were men and the rest women. Female teachers outnumbered their counterparts in remaining subjects. This contrast was especially noticeable in History faculty where 70% of staff was women. Likewise, the proportion of female Arts teachers surpassed that of males, constituting just under 60% and just over 40% respectively. Medicine was the only field where the gender distribution was roughly equal, at half each. - Break downs - The gender distribution - Took the lead - Dominated - Outnumbered / surpassed - This contrast was especially noticeable in - The share of sth was particularly pronounced in - 6 out of 10 teachers - Constituting
Some feel governments should invest in preserving minority languages, while others feel this is not a good use of resources. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. Some share the view that public funds should be used to preserve minority languages, but others object to this idea, stating that these funds can be put to better use. While funding language conservation efforts with taxpayer money may seem unreasonable and possibly undesirable in some respects, I believe that keeping minority languages alive is critically important. On the one hand, it does not seem sensible to preserve underrepresented languages with public funds since most international exchange and trade is conducted in mainstream languages such as English and Russian. Government investment may be in vain as long as people continue to learn and speak global languages in pursuit of better job prospects and living conditions. Furthermore, language barriers are often a source of misunderstandings and conflict. As such, having fewer shared global languages, as opposed to many less-spoken languages and dialects, would engender greater mutual understanding and harmony in the world. That being said, I still consider the preservation of less-spoken languages to be of paramount importance. Language is inextricably linked to culture; the disappearance of one means the extinction of the other. Less cultural diversity, in turn, has negative implications for the economy and human creativity in terms of diminished tourism and uniform thinking. Besides, the speakers of minority languages should be entitled to public funds as they pay their share of tax. After all, it is within their rights to reclaim some of their taxes to maintain the essence of their culture – that is, their language. In conclusion, although a strong case can be made against allocating government funding to language conservation, I strongly feel that languages on the verge of extinction should be saved at all costs because they preserve cultural heritage while contributing to tourism and fostering human creativity. 💬 ESSAY Some people think eating meat is bad for health. Do you agree or disagree with this view? Some people argue that eating meat is harmful for human health. While excessive consumption of certain types of meat can increase the risk of particular diseases, I disagree with the view that meat itself is harmful. When consumed in moderation, meat provides essential nutrients that are difficult to obtain in sufficient quantities in many other foods. The primary reason why meat should not be regarded as harmful is its excellent nutritional value. It is a great source of nutrients such as protein, iron, zinc and vitamin B12, all of which play in important role in maintaining the body’s normal functions. Protein is important for muscle growth, while iron helps transport oxygen throughout the body, and reduce the risk of iron-deficiency anemia. These nutrients are essential for children, adolescents and physically active individuals whose nutritional requirements are relatively high. Although plant-based foods can provide many of the same nutrients, they often require careful dietary planning, whereas moderate meat consumption offers a convenient and reliable source. Admittedly, eating excessive quantities of processed or fatty meat may contribute to certain health problems such as obesity, cardiovascular disease and some forms of cancer. However, these risks are largely associated with poor dietary habits rather than meat itself. Almost any food can become harmful when consumed in excessive amounts. For example, foods that are high in sugar and saturated fat can lead to serious health conditions if eaten regularly without moderation. Consequently, the key to maintaining good health is not eliminating meat altogether, but adopting a balanced diet that includes various foods consuming in moderation. In conclusion, I disagree that meat itself is detrimental to health. While excessive consumption of unhealthy meat products should be avoided, moderate intake of lean meat provides valuable nutrients that support growth, physical wellbeing and overall health. Rather than discouraging people from eating meat, the greater emphasis should be placed on a balanced and varied diet.
