Stuff that I learned working as a senior editor in a Germany ads company for almost 3 months: 1) Those fancy edits we see on social media are good for us. I personally enjoy watching them. But when it comes to businesses, they don't really care about all that advanced 3D and a lot of doubled layers. They just want the video to sell the idea or the specific product. Meaning, people should notice the product more than how cool the edit was. 2) Communication and trust >>> all the other things. 3) Try getting international clients. It solves a lot of headaches when it comes to the whole interaction. Tip: Always underpromise and overdeliver. For example, if they tell you the deadline is Sunday, tell them you'll finish it by Saturday—and actually send it on Friday. That positive surprise adds more credibility and makes them trust you more.
