It fell marginally below the 23.6 percent Fibonacci retracement of the recent sharp rally but still traded well above all key moving averages. RSI fell to 56.1 and witnessed a bearish crossover, while the MACD inclined downward towards the signal line and the green bar on the histogram faded for the fourth consecutive session, all of which indicated a moderation in momentum and weakening buying strength. Bank Nifty formed a bearish candle with a long lower shadow on the daily timeframe, indicating that buying interest emerged at lower levels. The index took support at the 50 percent Fibonacci retracement of the recent rally from the July low, as well as the 50-day EMA, and recovered from those levels to close off the day’s low with a 0.42 percent loss. The index closed below its short-term moving averages but remained above its medium- and long-term moving averages. The RSI declined to 49.95 and witnessed a negative crossover, while the MACD showed a bearish crossover, with the histogram turning red for the first time in the last five sessions. All these indicators point to a moderation in momentum and a shift towards sideways-to-bearish bias in the near term, although the recovery from key support levels suggests that buying interest remains at lower levels. _____ F&O Cues Nifty Aug futures is down 0.55% at a premium of 53 points. Nifty Options 18th Aug Expiry: Maximum Call OI at 25,000 and Maximum Put OI at 24,000. Securities in ban: Bandhan Bank, SAIL Nifty PCR increased to 1.00 from 0.99. RHI Magnesita India reported an 83.2% YoY rise in consolidated net profit to ₹64.6 crore for Q1CFY, as margins improved despite higher input costs and pricing pressure. Corporate Actions Manipal Health Enterprises is set to make stock market debut today, August 05. The issue price is fixed at Rs. 590 per share. VRL Logistics has approved the proposal to buy back up to 87,50,000 equity shares, representing up to 5.00% of equity shares, at a price of ₹320 per Equity Share for an aggregate amount of up to ₹280 Crores, on a proportionate basis through the “tender offer” route.
