God (the owner) planted the vineyard, sent prophets (servants, beaten/killed), then His Son (Jesus)—whom the wicked husbandmen (Jews after the flesh) murdered to seize the inheritance. - "He will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others" (v.9).
