It was five years ago today that my beloved father, Dr Kailash Chand Malhotra OBE, suffered an unexpected cardiac arrest and died. One year later, Andy Burnham unveiled a plaque in his honour at the GP surgery where he devoted his life to serving his patients. The speech I gave that day remains as relevant now as it was then, and I’ve shared it again below. My father’s death changed the course of my life. It forced me to confront uncomfortable truths about a healthcare system that too often lacks transparency, accountability and the courage to admit when it gets things wrong. I became determined to seek answers - not just for my father, but for every family left asking questions after losing someone they love. I was warned by a senior NHS cardiologist that pursuing the truth about what happened would make me enemies and that I should walk away. I couldn’t. I wouldn’t. I remain convinced that there were two major factors behind my father’s death. The first was the ambulance delay. The second, which I have discussed at length with Andy Burnham, concerns the role I believe Covid mRNA vaccination played in accelerating his coronary artery disease. Five years later, I still believe there has been no meaningful investigation, no accountability and no justice. The personal cost of speaking out has been immense.
