Office of the President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, in a statement: A phone call took place this afternoon between the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun. During the conversation, Aoun again thanked Trump for his efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Lebanon and to ensure lasting peace and stability, as preparation for advancing the peace process in the region. He asked him to continue these efforts in order to bring about a ceasefire as soon as possible. Trump replied that he supports President Aoun and Lebanon, and emphasized his commitment to respond to the Lebanese request and to achieve a ceasefire as quickly as possible.
