Be careful what you use your hands for. Do not engage your hands in activities that are contrary to the Word of God, because what we do with our hands can become a point of access for ungodly influences. As sons of God, we must destroy the works of the devil. Sons must war because whatever God has promised us will come to manifestation as we walk in the Spirit. Therefore, we must pay attention to the Holy Spirit, watch our steps and our words, and live repentant and broken lives before God. God tells us in *Jeremiah 32:40: “And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me.”* Pray that the Lord will saturate you with the spirit of the fear of the Lord. There has to be an honest and heartfelt departure from anything you know grieves the Holy Spirit. We must understand that Satan looks for opportunities and openings through which he can work. You must develop a hatred for sin because sin multiplies pain. We are where we are today, and we cannot exercise dominion over the forces of darkness if we continue to live in sin. As we launch deeper, let us not fall victim to carelessness. We must intentionally pursue righteousness, purity, and holiness. *Proverbs 28:13 “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”* *Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil...”* We must close every opening to the enemy as a church because there is an assignment upon our lives. Be discerning. Get out of the flesh and get into the Spirit; stay and live there. *SIN OPENS A DOOR FOR THE ENEMY* *Thursday, 6th August 2026* *Genesis 3:1–10... [7] Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked;... [8] And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.* When Adam and Eve sinned, their physical eyes were not blind. God was still relating with them, despite the fact that something had gone wrong. Adam was no longer in the place where God had put him. Sin trapped Adam, dropping him from the spirit realm into the flesh realm. His life was now driven by the five senses. This was unlike before. Despite having physical eyes that were open, he was still relating with the spiritual world rather than being governed by the physical. The communication between Adam, Eve, and God in the preceding verses of Genesis 3 took place while they were in different realms because the union between God and man had been destroyed. Remember, there is no way God could communicate with Adam unless he was in the spirit, because God is a Spirit. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 12:1 to lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, because sin hinders our fellowship with God—the place where we experience divinity and communion with Him. Apostle Paul says: *“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” — Colossians 3:2* Man has a duality of habitation: he can exist in the material world, but he can also choose to live where God is because of his divine nature and design. We are seated with Christ in heavenly places. We have a choice regarding where we operate from, but the Scripture above tells us to set our minds on things above and to be spiritually minded if we are to walk effectively in this life. Man lost fellowship with God because he disobeyed an instruction, and that disobedience opened the door for Satan to attack all that had been placed under man's dominion. The evil we see in the world today entered through the door that sin opened to the enemy. We need to understand this if we are to be effective in spiritual warfare and defeat Satan continually. *How does satan gain access to our lives?* *1. Through the ears* You must learn to seal and sanctify your ears with the blood of Jesus because the ears are one of the gates through which Satan can attack you. That is why Jesus stated in Mark 4:24, “Take heed what you hear...” God also asked Adam in Genesis 3:11, “Who told you that you were naked?” This shows the importance of paying attention to what we allow into our ears. If this gate is not guarded, the enemy can use what we hear against us. *2. Through the feet* God told Joshua: *“...Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” — Joshua 5:15* It is through our feet that we have direct contact with the earth, and the places we walk and stand can influence our lives and our destiny. That is why the Bible speaks of having our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace and of putting on the helmet of salvation as part of the armour of God. We must therefore be careful about where we go, where we stand, and what we participate in. *3. Through your mind* *Proverbs 23:7: “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. ‘Eat and drink!’ he says to you, but his heart is not with you.”* Watch what you think about because your mind is a gate through which the enemy can gain access to your life. The devil can do nothing if you do not give him room. This is why Ephesians 4:27 says:*“Nor give place to the devil.”* Wherever the devil finds an opportunity to operate, there is an opening that has been given to him. Therefore, guard your mind and bring your thoughts under the authority of God's Word. *4. Through your hands* Hands can also become points of contact and influence. Many things can be exchanged through physical contact, including through the laying on of hands.

*SET YOUR AFFECTION ON GOD* *Tuesday 4th August 2026* *Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. (KJV)* One of the things that helps you get the most out of your moments of praise, worship, prayer, and giving is learning to set your affection on God. Setting your affection on God means shutting out anything that contradicts His Word and focusing your mind, heart and everything within you on Jesus. It is in that realm that you will be able to tap into the things in the Spirit: see and hear what God is saying. *Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.* You can't be led by the Spirit when you are in the carnal realm because, according to the Bible, the carnal mind can never please God. Remember, God is spirit; whatever you do to have an impact in the Kingdom must be done in spirit, and this is only possible when you set your affection on Him. Because we know who God is, we can never give up or throw in the towel. It is very important, as a child of God, to study and understand His nature and character, because this will help you in seasons contrary to His Word. Life happens to us: sometimes our plans fall apart, we are disappointed by friends, or the pressure from others becomes overwhelming, but when you know your God, you are strong even in times of opposition and contradictions, knowing that He is the one who stabilizes your ship amidst the storms of life. *(Psalm 46:10)* *Why Should We Trust God Even When Everything is Failing, and Nothing Makes Sense?* *1. God cannot lie* Men lie even when they do not want to, but God is worth trusting because He does not lie: every promise He has told you will come to pass. (Numbers 23:19, Titus 1:2, Hebrews 6:18) When the enemy tries to bombard you and harass your mind that God has lied to you, doubt your doubt but trust God, for the Bible says, "...let God be true but every man a liar." (Romans 3:4) *2. The character of God matches His Word. (2 Timothy 2:1, Malachi 3:6)* God can be trusted because He is faithful—it is His nature; He cannot deny Himself. We are all humans living in this foreign world which can sometimes harass us, but we must be conscious of the fact that God's promise of His faithfulness flows from His character: He is faithful, and He keeps His Word and promises.*(Joshua 21:45, 2 Corinthians 1:20)* God loves you irrespective of who you are or what you have done; His love for man is unconditional, regardless of performance.
