  • Gen Z favors ETFs and trades less than older cohorts: Binance Gen Z traders on Binance are increasingly favoring exchange-traded funds (ETFs), which accounted for 25% of their trading volume in early August, according to Binance Research. ETFs made up 21.9% of Gen Z’s net equity inflows in July, up from 18.5% in June, while individual stocks fell to 74.2%. Gen Z also traded less frequently than Millennials and Gen X across direct equities, tokenized stocks and TradFi perpetuals. Among Gen Z direct-equity accounts, 22% had never sold a position. Top assets among buy-only accounts included Broadcom, Tesla and the Schwab US Dividend Equity ETF. Binance also found limited demand for leveraged and inverse ETFs, with 88.2% of Gen Z TradFi perpetual accounts showing no activity in them. Binance cautioned that its direct-equities product only reached meaningful scale in June, leaving limited data for identifying long-term trends. Binance bStocks briefly overtakes xStocks Binance’s bStocks briefly surpassed Kraken’s xStocks as the second-largest tokenized stock issuer. As of Tuesday, bStocks held $610.6 million in tokenized stock value versus $601.2 million for xStocks, according to Token Terminal. By Friday, xStocks had regained the lead with $610.7 million, while bStocks held $579.6 million. Ondo Finance remained the largest issuer at $971.8 million. The tokenized stock market continues to expand, reaching about $2.43 billion in distributed value, up roughly 5% over the past 30 days, according to RWA.xyz. https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info.9/ - Main page https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info/ - Reserve page

  • Today in crypto, Morgan Stanley increased its crypto fund positions in Q2, while Neutrl suspended minting and redemptions for its NUSD synthetic dollar. Meanwhile, the CFTC moved to explore crypto regulation as the CLARITY Act remains stalled in Congress. Morgan Stanley’s BlackRock Bitcoin ETF holdings rise 23% in Q2 Morgan Stanley increased its holdings in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) by 23% to about 16.5 million shares, up from 13.4 million, according to its Q2 SEC filing. The bank also reported 2.57 million shares of its own Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust, worth roughly $43.3 million. Crypto fund positions broadly increased, despite declines in Coinbase and some other crypto-linked stocks. Neutrl pauses NUSD redemptions over undisclosed reserve issue DeFi protocol Neutrl suspended NUSD minting and redemptions after unspecified circumstances affected its reserves. The protocol also paused other functions on legal advice while assessing potential impairment. Neutrl has not disclosed the affected asset, counterparty, size of any loss or a timeline for resuming operations. Strata, which supports NUSD-linked products, also paused related functions. With around $53.6 million NUSD in circulation, redemptions remain suspended pending further assessment. CFTC moves on crypto rules as CLARITY bill stalls The CFTC will explore crypto regulation without waiting for Congress to advance the CLARITY Act. Its Innovation Advisory Committee will meet Aug. 20 to discuss crypto assets, AI and prediction markets. The move follows the Senate’s failure to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act before its August recess. The CFTC continues to face a leadership gap, with Michael Selig the only Senate-confirmed commissioner and four seats vacant. https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info.9/ - Main page https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info/ - Reserve page

  • Bitcoin price drops to $62.5K as trader warns weekly close may spark more losses Bitcoin fell 1.3% to $62,570, near its monthly lows, despite softer US inflation data and stocks closing at record highs. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq gained 0.11% and 0.14%, highlighting Bitcoin’s continued weakness. Trader Rekt Capital warned that Bitcoin needs to close Sunday’s weekly candle above $63,220 to avoid further downside. A close below that level could trigger a breakdown, he said. Meanwhile, $63,000 is increasingly failing as support, while the 50-month EMA at $65,827 has turned into resistance. With derivatives open interest rising, the risk of a long liquidation event near $61,000 is growing. Glassnode noted that traders have added substantial, mostly long, risk without matching demand. QCP Capital also highlighted crypto’s muted reaction to improving inflation data, calling the divergence between resilience and momentum increasingly important. Markets now await the Aug. 26 PCE report, the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge, for clues on the next move. https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info.9/ - Main page https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info/ - Reserve page

  • Bitcoin longs feel the squeeze as price drops CryptoQuant analyst “BorisD” said leveraged BTC longs are being flushed out as Bitcoin targets new August lows. Binance open interest (OI) rose to $8.15 billion on Wednesday despite BTC trading in a narrow range since June, showing the growing influence of futures while spot traders remain cautious. As BTC falls, the relationship between price and OI is shifting, squeezing leveraged longs built around the low $60,000s. The latest OI correlation reading of 0.25 suggests the expected “cleanout” has begun. “A simultaneous drop in both price and OI indicates that leveraged long positions are giving up, getting stopped out, or facing liquidation,” the analyst said. CoinGlass data showed $236 million in crypto liquidations over 24 hours. CryptoQuant CEO: “Stars haven’t aligned” for Bitcoin bull market CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju said conditions for a renewed Bitcoin bull market have yet to emerge. “The stars haven’t aligned for a Bitcoin bull run just yet,” he wrote on X, pointing to several onchain indicators still in “bear” territory. Glassnode’s composite cycle indicator also remains in a prolonged “capitulation” phase — its longest since the end of Bitcoin’s 2022 bear market — reinforcing concerns that the current BTC cycle has not yet turned decisively bullish. https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info.9/ - Main page https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info/ - Reserve page

  • Here’s what happened in crypto today Today in crypto, Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan said crypto valuations could double as protocols increasingly link revenue to token value. Hong Kong’s regulated stablecoin market entered the distribution phase, while Fidelity filed to add staking to its spot Ether ETF. Crypto valuations could double as protocols link revenue to tokens: Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan said crypto beyond Bitcoin is becoming a revenue-driven market, with network activity increasingly supporting native-token value. He argued investors have yet to fully price in this shift. Hougan highlighted Hyperliquid, Uniswap, Aave, Pump.fun and Lighter, which use fees for token buybacks or burns. He expects more DeFi applications and layer-1 networks to adopt similar mechanisms over the next 12–24 months. Hong Kong’s stablecoin push moves from licensing to distribution HashKey Exchange has begun distributing Anchorpoint Financial’s HKD-backed HKDAP stablecoin to eligible institutions and professional investors, marking an early test of Hong Kong’s new regulatory framework. HashKey completed its first HKDAP minting and redemption transactions, including fiat on- and off-ramping. The partners plan to expand distribution and explore cross-border payments, settlement and tokenized finance. Fidelity files with SEC to add staking to Ethereum ETF Fidelity plans to add staking to its spot Ether ETF, the Fidelity Ethereum Fund (FETH). The fund could stake up to 100% of its ETH under normal conditions, excluding assets needed for redemptions, expenses and liquidity. Fidelity would retain 85% of staking rewards, with 15% allocated to fees, and plans quarterly cash distributions. Staking is expected to begin as soon as practicable after the prospectus date. https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info.9/ - Main page https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info/ - Reserve page

  • Bitcoin miners earn under 0.7% of revenue from fees in new 10-year low Bitcoin miner fee revenue has fallen to decade-low levels, with fees accounting for just 0.52% of total miner revenue in April, according to Glassnode. Fees have remained below 1% for nearly a year, returning to levels last seen when Bitcoin traded below $400. Miners are under growing pressure from weaker BTC prices, rising energy costs and increased competition. With fees contributing little, miners increasingly rely on the 3.125 BTC block subsidy, whose dollar value has also declined as Bitcoin fell nearly 50% from its October 2025 all-time high. Checkonchain estimates Bitcoin’s average production cost at $78,254, almost 23% above the current spot price. Network hash rate has also dropped 33% from its October 2025 peak, signaling mounting stress across the mining sector. Analysts say miners are increasingly pivoting toward AI and high-performance computing (HPC), where demand and margins can be more attractive. William Clemente called the shift a prudent business move for some public miners, while Charles Edwards described the accelerating decline in hash rate as one of the most concerning Bitcoin developments of 2026. CleanSpark recently shifted toward AI-focused data centers after missing profit targets, while Keel Infrastructure shut down its US mining operations following a 50% drop in Q2 revenue. https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info.9/ - Main page https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info/ - Reserve page

  • A group of cryptocurrency companies has urged leading AI labs to give Bitcoin developers early access to their most capable models, warning that public AI systems can restrict security research through safety guardrails. The letter, published by the Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI), called for “trusted-access programs” for qualified defenders of open-source financial infrastructure. Signatories including Anchorage Digital, BitGo, Bitwise, Blockstream, Kraken, Ledger, Trezor and others argued that Bitcoin secures more than $1 trillion in value, making vulnerabilities a serious threat to users’ savings. The groups said advanced AI can analyze large codebases, identify vulnerabilities and accelerate cybersecurity work, potentially becoming one of the most powerful defensive technologies available. Without dedicated access, open-source developers may struggle to keep pace with increasingly sophisticated attacks. The BPI also cited reports of advanced AI being used by sophisticated attackers, including potential foreign adversaries. Crypto hacking surged in April 2026, with more than $634 million stolen from platforms, according to DeFiLlama. The rise of AI-assisted vulnerability discovery has intensified concerns across the industry, with Immunefi CEO Mitchell Amador describing the situation as a “vulnerability apocalypse.” https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info.9/ - Main page https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info/ - Reserve page

  • Bitcoin Price Prediction: Will $64K Hold Ahead of Tomorrow’s CPI Data? BTC USD sits near $64,000, down 1.5% on the day, as bulls remain unable to break the ceiling that has capped Bitcoin for weeks. A weak labor-market report failed to trigger the expected relief rally, highlighting the market’s current lack of conviction. US employers cut 23,000 jobs in July, far below economists’ forecast of a 95,000 gain and marking the first net decline since the pandemic recovery. Treasury yields fell on expectations of rate cuts, but Bitcoin rejected its 50-day moving average and turned lower. The technical picture remains cautious, with lower highs, lower lows and a death cross still defining the trend since May’s peak near $80,000. Bitcoin Price Prediction: Can BTC USD Hit $65,000 This Week? BTC is trading between support at $63,766 and resistance near $65,000, according to CoinLore. A breakout above $65,000 could open the way toward $67,081, while a deeper move could target $78,085. CoinLore’s seven-day forecast sits at $63,935, pointing to limited near-term momentum. The RSI is neutral at 50, while the 50-day EMA remains below the 200-day. Bulls need a daily close above the shorter average to improve the technical outlook. Bull case: reclaiming $65,000 could push BTC toward $67,000+. Base case: continued consolidation between $63,766 and $65,016. Bear case: a break below $62,216 could confirm further downside. https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info.9/ - Main page https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info/ - Reserve page

  • Here’s what happened in crypto today Today in crypto, the White House reaffirmed its commitment to passing the CLARITY Act in September, Strategy sold 1,690 Bitcoin to fund a $108.6 million STRC share buyback, and Quantus warned that the first quantum-powered crypto attack could look like an unexplained wallet breach. White House vows to get CLARITY across ‘finish line’ in September The Trump administration plans to keep negotiating with Democrats through September to advance the CLARITY Act, according to Patrick Witt, executive director of the President’s Council of Advisors for Digital Assets. The Senate is expected to hold a cloture vote in mid-September. The bill would establish a federal framework for digital assets, clarifying when tokens fall under securities or commodities rules and setting regulations for trading platforms. Key disputes remain over ethics rules targeting Trump-linked crypto interests and stablecoin rewards. Strategy turns 1,690 BTC into $108.6M STRC buyback Strategy sold 1,690 BTC for $108.6 million between Aug. 3 and Aug. 9, using the proceeds to repurchase 1.15 million STRC preferred shares. It was the company’s fourth disclosed Bitcoin sale of 2026, bringing total sales this year to 6,948 BTC. Strategy still holds 840,447 BTC, acquired for $63.36 billion. Crypto’s first quantum attack will look like unexplained breach: Quantus founder Quantus co-founder Christopher Smith warned that the first quantum-powered crypto attack may appear as a series of unexplained wallet breaches rather than an obvious hack. A sufficiently powerful quantum computer could derive private keys from exposed public keys and move funds without compromising a wallet, device or exchange. This could make “Q-day” — when quantum computers can break modern cryptography — extremely difficult to detect. https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info.9/ - Main page https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info/ - Reserve page

  • White House vows to get CLARITY across ‘finish line’ in September The Trump administration remains committed to passing the CLARITY Act in September despite the Senate delaying action until after its August recess, the White House’s top crypto policy official said. Patrick Witt, executive director of the President’s Council of Advisors for Digital Assets, said negotiations with Democrats would continue “all the way up until the September vote,” while warning that the process cannot be delayed indefinitely. The Senate is expected to hold a cloture vote in mid-September, requiring 60 votes to advance the bill. The CLARITY Act would establish a federal framework for digital assets, defining when tokens fall under securities or commodities laws and setting rules for crypto trading platforms. Key disagreements remain, including Democratic demands for stricter ethics rules targeting Trump-linked crypto interests and banking industry concerns over provisions allowing companies to offer rewards to stablecoin holders. https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info.9/ - Main page https://instagram.com/bitcoin.info/ - Reserve page
