👎🏻 Lebanon's anti-Syria rhetoric 🎦 Al-Mayadeen is the most respectable Arabic news agency. But I absolutely hate their spiteful anti-Assad rhetoric since the decades-engineered toppling of the Syrian Arab Republic for the sole reason of supporting Lebanon and Palestine Watching a long dialogue with guest Seif Dana (Sociology Professor in Wisconsin) - whose commentary I absolutely love, the channel's hostess, currently in Tehran, ACTUALLY went on to claim that Hafez al-Assad normalized relations with the Zionist state following the Oslo agreement and the collapse of the USSR, and that it was the "point of division between Iran and Syria". The guest was quick to correct her and say that Syria never signed any agreements with "Israel" and continued to view it as an existential enemy until the very last day - to which the hostess agreed and said it was true. This isn't a separate incident. Lebanese resistance media always uses the term "the Syrian regime" referring to the SAR and still holds a grudge over its collapse, blaming Assad himself for its collapse instead of the 100 countries that invaded it and the Wahhabified population that was brainwashed by the Gulf-led color revolution and siege Which reminds me of a post by Khalil Nasrallah from yesterday, the journalist I long ago stopped quoting and am convinced lives in Lalaland (here's a previous critique of a big episode he made on Syria). I'm convinced this guy is an Ikhwanite and has personal aspirations for a reconciliation with Qatar and Jewlani Syria - if you're not convinced, just read yesterday's post: Al-Sharaa is avoiding a confrontation with Hezbollah. Hezbollah, in turn, is avoiding a confrontation with Syria. Both sides are aware of the magnitude of the challenges, especially those coming from the south. Both sides understand the potential losses from a confrontation. Therefore, Damascus has expressed intentions for reconciliation, and Hezbollah has responded with similar intentions. Many are unhappy, especially those who claimed victory with Sharaa's rise to power, and they see this as an opportunity to strike at their opponents, using the blood of others. These individuals view any Syrian rapprochement with Hezbollah as a loss. They will attempt to stir up the past to incite unrest. Therefore, a responsible approach and an explanation of the dangers of this period are necessary, and this responsibility falls on both Hezbollah and Syria. However, the biggest loser is "Israel." And there's more, he published an episode titled "Sheikh Naim Qassem extends his hand to Al-Sharaa!!" (😐) Just a reminder that this dude is the most Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese journalist (though I doubt any official connection). I stick with Hosein Mortada as the ideal Lebanese journalist. And I will re-state an old theory: Blaming Syria for what was done to it is only a psychological defense mechanism to avoid accepting the huge defeat. No matter the excuses of "mistakes" that were committed, which were microscopic in comparison with all other Arab "states", nothing justifies standing against Syria that was literally destroyed and sent back to the stone age only for supporting Palestine. And Al-Mayadeen? No news about Syria, nothing about the daily rape, pillaging, head cutting, terrorism, and desecration taking place in Syria and especially against Alewites and Shias Disappointing.
