  • 🚨 C.A.F.E.S called for New Zealand to drop the Paris Agreement a year ago - and we agree! The Paris Agreement is driving up power prices, hurting our farmers, damaging our economy, and delivering almost no meaningful global benefit - while costing us billions. New Zealand should withdraw from the Paris Agreement. 👉 Sign the petition here: https://www.change.org/p/withdraw-new-zealand-from-the-paris-agreement #DropTheParisAgreement #DropNetZeroNZ

🚨 MIDNIGHT DEADLINE – Official Parliament Petition closes TONIGHT! A nationwide eRUC rollout will involve GPS tracking on millions of vehicles (light and heavy) across New Zealand. This will generate enormous volumes of time-stamped location, distance, and movement data - requiring massive, high-availability storage and processing infrastructure at hyperscale data centre level. This surveillance system is dependent on data centres like CDC Hobsonville and Datacom sites for collection, storage, and analysis. Yet there is almost no public transparency on where the detailed GPS records will be stored long-term, retention policies, or access controls. Private providers will hold much of the granular data, with only billing summaries going to NZTA. Please sign the official Parliament Petition NOW! before it closes at midnight: https://petitions.parliament.nz/0fe99a59-6eed-40f8-2c7b-08de8ead923a SUPPORTED by the petition below 👇🏽 https://www.change.org/p/stop-new-zealand-s-electronic-road-user-charges-eruc-surveillance-system Share widely - the stronger the numbers we deliver to Parliament, the louder our message. #StopERUCs #StopDataCentresNZ

  • Even before Invest New Zealand became a separate agency, NZTE was already actively promoting New Zealand as an international data centre hub — and specifically referenced Microsoft and AWS plans. See the NZTE article here: https://www.nzte.govt.nz/blog/opportunity-for-new-zealand-to-become-international-data-centre-hub The Auckland Surf Park project in Dairy Flat (which includes a hyperscale data centre) also referenced support from “Invest New Zealand of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise”: https://surfparkcentral.com/new-zealands-first-surf-park-receives-resource-consent/ STOP DATA CENTRES NZ

  • The RNZ post is right — fuel prices are dropping as oil moves back toward pre-war levels. We’re seeing it here too, with Gaspy showing the national average at $3.01 for 91 and $2.55 for diesel today. New Zealand never actually faced a fuel shortage. A lot of the higher prices came from risk premiums built into the benchmark, not from any real supply problem here. As those risk assessments ease, the base cost is coming down naturally. The tax on fuel was already high before any of this. The recent price spikes just made it more visible. Even as global prices settle, that tax layer is still sitting on every litre. Does it still make sense at these levels? Read the RNZ piece here: https://www.facebook.com/share/15yErk85WGn/ #FuelTaxProtestNZ #MakeItMakeSense

  • Call out - Parliament occupation lawn flooding (from someone who was there) During the 2022 Parliament occupation, Trevor Mallard turned the sprinklers on the lawn where he claimed - 2,000 people (including children) were camped. He has since said publicly: "Diluting a bit of the s*** and urine was not a major issue for me.” And more recently: “You just cannot have people defecating on the front door with 2,000 people sleeping. It’s just wrong. You had to wash it away.” I was there. There were portable toilets on site that were being cleaned regularly. At one point the cleaners were stopped from coming in - not by us, but by those running the response. From what I saw, there was no open defecation on the lawn itself. If people had been shitting on the grass with thousands of us there, everyone would have known about it. It looks like a false narrative was built and pushed in the media to justify what was done. I’m now looking for anyone whose tent or property was damaged or stained by the sprinkler flooding. If you have photos of the damage and were there at the time, please private message me. All information will be kept confidential and direct contact made about the legal reasons for the ask! If you have clear evidence of the water damage from the sprinklers, I’d really appreciate you reaching out. Thank you.

  • NZ Fuel Rort Exposed – 11 May 2026 The government is refusing to cut fuel taxes, saying it would make people use more fuel. Here’s Finance Minister Nicola Willis’ words: “Dramatically reducing prices in a way that would encourage people to use more of something would not necessarily be prudent.” Here’s why that justification is useless for most Kiwi households: We run on a fixed weekly fuel budget - say $80 or $100 every pay cycle, no matter what. - When prices are high → same $ buys fewer litres → we just travel less. - If they cut the taxes → same $ buys more litres → we simply get more km out of our money. Even if the price per litre drops and you get noticeably more litres with your $80, it still doesn’t justify the tax grab. Nearly 50% of the pump price is tax (excise + ETS + GST). Diesel users get hit even harder with extra RUCs on top. We’re still in Phase 1 — no rationing, no restrictions. Stocks (as at 6 May): Petrol 51 days, Diesel 44 days, Jet fuel 54 days. All good, no shortage at the pump. They’re using a possible tiny global supply risk to justify keeping half your fuel money as tax — while the cost-of-living crisis keeps hammering us. This excuse doesn’t stack up. What do you reckon? Drop your thoughts 👇 #FuelPrices #CostOfLiving #FuelTaxProtestNZ

  • THE GLOBAL BANKING SHIFT - THE PAPERS ARE PUBLIC This isn’t theory anymore. It’s documented. Global financial authorities are now openly working on: 🔹 Cross-border payment systems 🔹 Interoperable digital money 🔹 Shared financial infrastructure This is about connecting systems across countries and standardising how money moves. Not overnight. But step by step. 🏦 AND THE BANKS? They’re not in the dark. They can see: Where the infrastructure is heading How systems are being linked What happens when everything runs on the same rails And yet… silence. ⚠️ WHAT THIS MEANS This isn’t about flipping a switch. The official papers now show a global push toward more connected, standardised, and interoperable banking systems. And once the rails are built… 👉 everything else becomes easier to change. 📌 I’ll drop the official documents in the comments so you can read them yourself. KEEP CASH ALIVE - New Zealand

  • RBNZ CASH CONSULTATION — CURRENT POSITION The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is consulting on a proposed cash services standard. Objective: 1. Ensure ongoing access to cash services (withdrawal, deposit, change) 2. Maintain a minimum level of service coverage nationwide 3. Address declining access due to branch and ATM reductions Consultation remains open (extended to July 2026). 🏦 INDUSTRY RESPONSE Public opposition to the proposal has been expressed through the New Zealand Banking Association. Key points raised: 1. Proposal described as high cost 2. Concerns about feasibility and efficiency 3. Preference for voluntary / industry-led solutions 🏛️ GOVERNMENT POSITION Nicola Willis has publicly indicated: 1. Banks were not given sufficient notice prior to consultation 2. There may be limits to RBNZ’s ability to mandate outcomes without legislative change 3. Government has not committed to enforcing the proposed standard 🔍 OBSERVATION The core retail banks: 1. ANZ Bank New Zealand 2. ASB Bank 3. Bank of New Zealand 4. Westpac New Zealand 5. Kiwibank …have not issued clearly identifiable individual public statements on this consultation in the material reviewed. Industry position has instead been communicated collectively via NZBA. • Worth noting the timeline here. On 12 March 2026, the Australian government publicly announced the Lytton/Ampol fuel-specification change. The temporary move lifted sulphur limits from 10 ppm to 50 ppm for 60 days, with the stated purpose of unlocking about 100 million litres a month of extra supply through Ampol’s Lytton refinery for shortage areas and the wholesale spot market. In that announcement, the public emphasis was on Ampol/Lytton, not on BP or ExxonMobil. Then on 28 March 2026, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced new government powers to underwrite private-sector fuel purchases to get more fuel into Australia. Again, the public framing was broad fuel security and underwriting imports, not a specific announcement naming BP or ExxonMobil as the firms bringing in replacement cargoes. Separately, Reuters reported on 19 March 2026 that ExxonMobil, BP and Vitol were in fact shipping record volumes of fuel from the U.S. to Australia. That is the important technical distinction: the commercial replacement-supply trade was publicly reported in the media, while the government’s own messaging focused much more on Ampol/Lytton, standards changes, and general import-security measures. Then on 6 April 2026, Energy Minister Chris Bowen said Australia had secured “contracted, legally binding supply well into May.” By that stage, the public ministerial message was about supply being secured into May and shortages easing, rather than spelling out which part of that supply was tied to BP, ExxonMobil, or other private importers. Prime Minister Albanese then moved into a regional diplomacy phase, including his 7 April 2026 push with Singapore on fuel security and regional energy resilience. That again reinforces the pattern: public messaging has centred on government measures, Singapore, regional partners, and Ampol/Lytton, while the BP/ExxonMobil U.S. cargo stream has largely sat in the background as a commercially reported part of the response.
