Multiple states are now taking action to protect DNA data. “You can actually take someone’s DNA, take their medical profile, and you can target a biological weapon that will kill that person or take them off the battlefield or make them inoperable,” Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colo.), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said during the 2022 Aspen Security Forum. “There are now weapons under development, and developed, that are designed to target specific people.” One fear is that the DNA gathered by consumer genetic testing companies routinely used by Americans to trace ancestry or find relatives could fall into the wrong hands. Authorities in Florida arrested a man who allegedly shared posts on social media threatening to kill President Donald Trump. Glen DeCicco was charged with making written threats to kill, the Jupiter Police Department wrote in a press release. He was arrested without incident, police said. DeCicco’s arrest was the culmination of an investigation by police and the U.S. Secret Service, which probed his comments made on social media targeting Trump. On his Facebook, DeCicco shared one post captioned “ass-ass-inate!”. He largely posted general criticisms of Trump’s tariffs, along with March Madness support for the University of Connecticut sprinkled throughout. “The investigation began after JPD was alerted to a concerning Facebook post. 💥In fresh comments NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed that NATO membership for Ukraine is off the table when it comes to negotiations with Russia to end the war. Rutte in an interview Friday was asked by Bloomberg TV’s Annemarie Gordern if Trump has definitely removed the issue of Ukraine’s accession to NATO from the negotiating table. Rutte answered "yes" and nodded in the affirmative when pressed. The issue of NATO constantly expanding right up to Russia's borders, which especially ramped up in the mid-2000s during the Bush era, has been consistently identified by President Putin as a key motive in his ordering hundreds of thousands of Russian troops into Ukraine in February of 2022. Rutte explained in the new Friday Bloomberg TV interview Europe could normalize ties with Russia when the war is over. BREAKING: Joe Biden has decided to issue a pardon for his son Hunter and is expected to announce it Sunday night, according to a senior White House official with direct knowledge of the decision. The decision marks a reversal for the president, who has repeatedly said he would not use his executive authority to pardon his son or commute his sentence. The pardon comes ahead of Hunter Biden’s Dec. 12 sentencing for his conviction on federal gun charges. Hunter Biden also is set to be sentenced in a separate criminal case on Dec. 16, after pleading guilty in September on federal tax evasion charges. The pardon is expected to cover both Hunter Biden’s gun charges conviction and guilty plea. It’s interesting going back to November 2020 and listening to Trump talk about the machines switching votes. It seems like he’s telling you, without directly telling you, that the 2020 Election was one big sting operation. “We had glitches where they moved thousands of votes from my account to Biden’s account…. they’re not glitches. President-elect Donald Trump wants to see a ceasefire and hostage deal in Gaza before he assumes office on Jan. 20, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told Axios in an interview. Getting a Gaza deal is one of President Biden's top priorities during his last two months in office, but the lack of any clear progress in recent weeks suggests it might land on Trump's plate. Israeli officials believe the Trump administration might take a different approach to Gaza, specifically on what the "day after" the war would look like. But Graham — who speaks with Trump frequently and advises him on foreign policy, especially on the Middle East — said Trump wants a deal to free the hostages and end the war as soon as possible, preferably before he takes office. The Biden administration doesn’t have enough time left to use the billions of dollars lawmakers have authorized to arm Ukraine, U.S. and congressional officials said, leaving in President-Elect Donald Trump’s hands what to do with the remaining money. The administration still has more than $6.5 billion left in what is known as drawdown authority, which allows the Defense Department to transfer weapons and equipment to Ukraine from its own stocks, U.S. officials said. The Pentagon has reached the limit of the weapons it can send Ukraine each month without affecting its own fighting capability, however, and is facing logistical challenges in getting the arms to Kyiv’s forces, they said. Russia is continuing work to put its 'unstoppable' Satan II intercontinental ballistic missile -  part of its terrifying strategic nuclear arsenal - on combat duty, Moscow's state media has revealed. The Satan II missile, also referred to as the RS-28 Sarmat, is designed to deliver nuclear warheads to strike targets thousands of miles away in the United States or Europe, but its development has been dogged by delays and testing setbacks. A former FBI informant who is charged with fabricating a multimillion-dollar bribery scheme involving President Joe Biden’s family has been indicted in a new case on federal tax charges. The tax indictment against Alexander Smirnov was unsealed this week in California federal court, months after his arrest on charges that he fabricated a multimillion-dollar bribery scheme involving Joe Biden, his son Hunter and a Ukrainian energy company. The indictment brought by Justice Department special counsel David Weiss charges Smirnov with tax evasion and filing false tax returns, accusing him of concealing millions of dollars of income he earned between 2020 and 2022. Biden makes last-ditch ask of Congress for $24 billion to help Ukraine: report On his way out of the White House, President Biden is reportedly making a last-minute plea to Congress for $24 billion in aid for war-torn Ukraine to bolster its military support and replenish US stocks that had dwindled. The White House Office of Management and Budget suggested that Congress could fold the renewed aid into its solution to avert a government shutdown next month, according to a request obtained by Politico Pro. Several lawmakers saw the proposal Monday and it features $8 billion for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative to fund US company contracts to arm Kyiv and $16 billion to refill US weaponry stock, per the report. 🙄 The bird flu virus has been detected in raw milk from a California dairy farm sold in stores, as cases of the virus soar across the state. Santa Clara County public health officials announced Sunday that a sample of raw milk from Fresno-based Raw Farm, the largest producer and retailer of dairy in the Golden State, from a store on November 21 tested positive for the H5 virus.
