📚 المولد النبوي | The Prophet’s Birthday (Mawlid) قال الشيخ ابن عثيمين رحمه الله: «أقول: إن الاحتفال بالمولد النبوي ليس معروفًا عن السلف الصالح، ما فعله الخلفاء الراشدون، ولا فعله الصحابة، ولا التابعون لهم بإحسان، ولا أئمة المسلمين من بعدهم. وهنا نسأل: هل نحن أشد تعظيمًا للرسول ﷺ من هؤلاء؟ أجيبوا يا جماعة. لا. هل نحن أشد حبًا للرسول ﷺ من هؤلاء؟ لا. إذا كان كذلك، فإن الواجب علينا أن نحذو حذوهم، وألا نقيم عيد المولد النبوي؛ لأنه بدعة». 📖 English: Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen رحمه الله said: “The celebration of the Mawlid, the Prophet’s birthday, was not known among the righteous predecessors. The Rightly Guided Caliphs did not celebrate it, nor did the Companions, those who followed them in goodness, or the imams of the Muslims who came after them. So we ask: Do we have greater reverence for the Messenger ﷺ than they did? No. Do we love the Messenger ﷺ more than they did? 📚 “Ah… I can finally rest from copying books!” Abu Bakr al-Daqqaq, known as Ibn al-Khadibah, earned his living by copying books in order to provide for his family. In a single year, he copied Sahih Muslim seven times! 🌙 One night, he saw in a dream that the Day of Judgement had begun, and he was told: “Enter Paradise.” When he entered Paradise, he lay down on his back and said: “Ah… By Allah, I can finally rest from copying books!” 😌📖 📌 This account is narrated from Ibn al-Khadibah himself and is mentioned by scholars in biographical works, including al-Dhahabi in Siyar A‘lam al-Nubala. However, it was a dream, so it cannot be used to state with certainty that a particular person is guaranteed Paradise.
