  • Israel has established a new research center affiliated with the Hanoch Dagan Institute for Public Policy aimed at shaping artificial intelligence narratives about the Gaza Strip, according to Responsible Statecraft magazine. The initiative highlights growing efforts to influence how AI systems frame and present information related to Gaza, amid increasing reliance on artificial intelligence as a source of news and information.

  • The Gaza Government Media Office has launched an urgent appeal to address the catastrophic shelter crisis facing more than 2.15 million displaced Palestinians, warning that hundreds of thousands remain in severely deteriorated tents that are no longer fit for human habitation. The office says 196,287 families, 867,228 people, are living in these tents, while more than 500,000 children face growing risks as winter approaches. The displaced population also includes 46,014 elderly people, 23,584 widows, 59,795 orphans and 15,687 people with disabilities. It called on the international community to break Israel’s “veto” on shelter supplies, demanding the immediate entry of caravans, insulation materials and weather-resistant tents, alongside the resumption of rubble removal needed for Gaza’s recovery.

  • The family of 15-year-old Palestinian Mohammad Hamid has buried his amputated leg after months in Israeli detention left him fighting for his life. According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society, Hamid endured torture, starvation and denial of medical care in Ofer Prison as his health deteriorated from scabies to severe infections requiring emergency heart surgery and the amputation of his leg. His case exposes the machinery of torture inside Israeli prisons, where Palestinian detainees face documented torture, starvation and systematic medical deprivation. @sahateenglish 🛑 For Palestine unfiltered 👇🏻 https://linktr.ee/sahatenglish

  • At least 10 Palestinian women detainees have been confirmed to have scabies at Israel’s Damon Prison, out of more than 90 Palestinian female political prisoners, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS). The detainees include pregnant women, girls and women with chronic health conditions. The PPS linked the outbreak to overcrowding, poor ventilation, high humidity, and shortages of cleaning supplies, clothing and hygiene materials. It warned that scabies poses a serious threat to detainees’ health and lives amid inadequate medical treatment and called for urgent international intervention and an investigation into prison conditions and systematic medical neglect.

  • Israeli occupation forces storm Beit Anan, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, and fire tear gas canisters.

  • Gaza’s Civil Defense teams continue working to recover Palestinians killed and buried beneath the rubble of homes destroyed by Israeli attacks despite the lack of heavy machinery and necessary equipment. On Sunday, crews recovered the remains of three Palestinians in Gaza City’s Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, while searches continue for others still trapped beneath the ruins. Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Bassal said teams have recovered around 470 bodies since the ceasefire, including nearly 300 during the first phase of the recovery project. Yet an estimated 8,000 bodies remain buried beneath destroyed buildings across Gaza. An agreement with the International Committee of the Red Cross allocated 800 working hours, but Civil Defense says the scale of destruction requires far greater resources, calling on the international community to urgently provide equipment and additional support so the bodies of Palestinians killed can finally be recovered and buried with dignity.

  • Israeli occupation forces storm the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, and arrest Palestinains.

  • As efforts continue to advance the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, Israel's ongoing attacks continue to undermine the truce and deepen the humanitarian crisis. According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), in its August 14 briefing, nearly 290 Palestinian households were displaced across Gaza over the past week after attacks forced families from their homes and left them without their belongings. OCHA documented more than a dozen attacks, with most requests for assistance coming from northern Gaza and Deir al-Balah. Another five households were displaced after new yellow cement blocks were placed, signaling an expansion of Israeli access-restricted areas inside the Strip.

  • US President Trump says the "Israelis should not be striking in Gaza."

  • Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, has condemned Israel’s efforts to influence how AI systems portray it, saying it uses a purported think tank, the “Hanover Institute,” to push pro-Israel content into AI tools. She described this as part of a broader effort to manipulate public narratives and “launder” Israel’s record through AI, while criticizing legacy media for enabling similar forms of narrative manipulation for decades.

  • Breaking | An Israeli police force stormed the entrance of the Arab Society for Rehabilitation Hospital in Bethlehem, south of the occupied West Bank, seized a Palestinian police vehicle, and confiscated a handgun belonging to two Palestinian police officers after briefly detaining them.

  • In an interview with Al-Jazeera, Palestinian lawyer Ahmad Ibsais said that Israel's genocide in Gaza involves the “specific targeting of women and children,” describing it as part of an “intent to kill a people through their women,” including those seeking shelter in schools and hospitals. Ibsais also highlighted the destruction of the hospital housing thousands of embryos created through IVF, saying, “They targeted the only hospital that was housing embryos taken from IVF.” He argued that attacks on reproductive life must be understood alongside the mass killing of Palestinian women. He cites the killing of “over 30,000 women specifically” and says that during the peak of Israel's genocide, “over 37 mothers specifically were killed a day”.
