Masjid Qubā’ was not built upon grandeur or display. It was founded upon righteousness, sincerity and sacrifice. Try to visit Masjid Qubā’ on a Saturday, as he ﷺ did, and seek the reward of an ʿumrah. When his own people, the Quraysh, rejected him, mocked him, persecuted him and drove him out of Makkah, it was the Anṣār who welcomed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. As you stand before ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu), remember the man through whom Allah strengthened Islām and honoured this Ummah. Strong in faith. Uncompromising in justice. Of all the Companions, none was closer to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu). No Messenger was ever granted a companion like Abū Bakr (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu). His closest friend. His companion in the Cave. The first adult male to embrace Islam.
