What America saw in the Senate hearings of Anthony Fauci on Wednesday is the end state of the toxic paternalism of an incompetent bureaucracy. The numerous discrepancies between Fauci's diary entries and his public pronouncements over the Covid-19 pandemic were not just self-protection cover-up of his earlier disastrous decisions, they reflect the standard model of public health administration: we know better than you how to manage a pandemic, and in fact we know it so well that we refuse to discuss any of it and instead use censorship and smear of contrary expertise and coercion rather than persuasion to effect our policies. In 2006, Thomas Inglesby, Jennifer Nuzzo, Tara O'Toole and the great D. A. Henderson published the state of the art of public health respiratory infection epidemic management: Disease Mitigation Measures in the Control of Pandemic Influenza. They described, "There are no historical observations or scientific studies that support the confinement by quarantine of groups of possibly infected people for extended periods in order to slow the spread of influenza." They observed, "Travel restrictions, such as closing airports and screening travelers at borders, have historically been ineffective." In the first SARS outbreak, they stated that Canadian health authorities found screening of inbound or outbound passengers from SARS-affected areas was ineffective, and in the US, "that screening individuals on domestic interstate flights for symptoms of flu ... would not be effective and would have serious adverse consequences." They noted that prohibitions of social gatherings would not have "any definitive effect on the severity or duration of an epidemic." They stated that school closures for extended periods would not have "any definitive effect on the severity or duration of an epidemic." With regard to face mask wearing, they said that "studies have shown that the ordinary surgical mask does little to prevent inhalation of small droplets bearing influenza virus." Also, "there are few data available to support the efficacy of N95 or surgical masks outside a healthcare setting." And yet, every one of these protocols was enforced by public health agencies *in the opposite* during the Covid-19 pandemic. The totality of these bad policies failed to control the pandemic--CDC reported that by the end of 2023, in spite of all of these policies and in spite of the massive population vaccination by the Covid-19 vaccines, more than 87% of American adults had been infected anyway. That fact is the proof that the public health institutional response for Covid-19 pandemic management was a failure. And still, Fauci and the rest of the public health infrastructure maintain the utter conceit that they know how to do their job. That is the message of Fauci's hearing. An incompetent bureaucracy, granted tremendous power by the state, with little accountability for their catastrophic actions.
I am honored to report that President Trump has appointed me to Chair the President's Cancer Panel (https://prescancerpanel.cancer.gov/). This panel monitors the progress of the National Cancer Program and reports to the President on it. I look forward to serving.

Camus @newstart_2024 RFK Jr. Exposes the Real Reason Ivermectin & Hydroxychloroquine Were Suppressed In a stunning revelation, RFK Jr. lays bare the hidden motives behind the aggressive suppression of ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine during the COVID-19 pandemic. These drugs—both with decades of proven safety and billions of doses administered—were systematically discredited, not for medical reasons, but for legal and financial ones. At the heart of the issue: a little-known federal law prohibiting the FDA from granting Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for vaccines if any existing, approved medication is shown to be effective against the target disease. If ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine had been acknowledged as effective against COVID-19, the EUA for vaccines would have been illegal. The result? A $200 billion vaccine enterprise could have collapsed overnight. Despite mounting evidence—including 17,000 doctors signing petitions and numerous peer-reviewed studies—officials like Tony Fauci led a relentless campaign to discredit these treatments. Ivermectin, a Nobel Prize-winning drug, was dismissed as “horse medicine,” while hydroxychloroquine was falsely labeled as dangerous. The goal? To ensure the vaccines remained the only “approved” solution. But why did the attacks continue even after the vaccines received EUA? The law appears to require that EUA status be revoked if a functional treatment emerges. The incentive to “kill” ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine was never about science—it was about protecting a financial empire. Leading experts, including Yale’s Harvey Risch and Dr. Peter McCullough (the most published physician in his field), have treated tens of thousands of COVID patients successfully with these drugs. Their conclusion, backed by data: Half a million American lives could have been saved. This isn’t just a medical scandal—it’s a betrayal of public trust. The question remains: How many lives were lost to protect a narrative? 3:06 PM · Oct 29, 2025 ·
Does Tylenol Cause Autism? https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/government-announcement-on-autism-should-revive-lawsuits-over-tylenol-attorneys-5920328 It is a fundamental principle in epidemiology that studies of medication use in association with some outcome of interest must also address the reasons for the medication use toward the same outcome. People use medications for reasons. Those reasons may very well be the underlying cause of the observed association and the medication use only a proxy for the real association. My colleagues have thoroughly reviewed and discussed the empirical evidence behind the observed association between Tylenol (acetaminophen, paracetamol) and autism: https://trusttheevidence.substack.com/p/autism-and-paracetamol-the-navigation. The summary result is a 25-30% increased risk. Relative risks this low are frequently the result of other variables not taken into account. In this instance, none of the studies that existed for my colleagues to review examined the underlying reasons why study subjects used the medication. That is flagrantly bad epidemiological science. A major use of Tylenol is to reduce fever. Fever is a common result of bacterial or viral infection, as well as a transient effect of vaccination. Vaccination for Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) and seasonal Flu are recommended during pregnancy by CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines-pregnancy/hcp/vaccination-guidelines/index.html) and commonly done. Covid-19 and RSV vaccines are also typically recommended (https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/Immunization/Pregnancy.aspx). A common result of both infection and vaccination is stimulation of the immune system and inflammation. These responses can have neurological implications especially for a developing central nervous system. Given that the empirical evidence for Tylenol use in pregnancy and risk of childhood autism has not addressed maternal infection and vaccination, it is improper to conclude that the Tylenol association per se reflects a real relationship for use of the medication.

There is a lot of discussion about removing seed oils from manufactured foods. These oils tend to promote inflammation. However, perhaps an easier approach would be to substitute high-oleic safflower oil. This oil is thought to be anti-inflammatory and has a higher smoke-point, which also makes it useful for frying.

Dr. Risch's involvement as an expert epidemiology witness in a legal case just concluded: BART workers fired due to COVID vaccine mandate to get over $1M each, federal jury decides: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/bart-workers-fired-due-to-covid-vaccine-mandate-to-get-over-1m-each-federal-jury-decides/ar-AA1sRGEJ A federal jury has sided with fired BART workers who sued the agency claiming they lost their jobs over a COVID vaccine mandate. There are six of them total in the lawsuit and each will receive more than $1 million. The employees claimed religious exemptions to the vaccine mandate but say they were not accommodated by the transit agency, and subsequently lost their job. BART did initially grant vaccine exemptions, but the plaintiffs argued they weren't accommodated. An accommodation could have meant that they were able to work from home or get tested regularly for COVID. They argued none of that happened and they lost their jobs. In total, BART must now pay a combined $7.8 million to all six former employees. BART is a transit agency that is already between $350 and $400 million in the red, but BART's board of directors did vote eight to one for the vaccine mandate in 2021. BART has not commented on Wednesday's decision.
