ISRK Advisory: Stay Alert Against Online Scams and Monetary Requests Dear ISRK Members, It has come to our attention that a few members were recently scammed through misleading help-related posts in community WhatsApp forums. Such posts may include offers to carry items from India, bring medicines, documents, food items, assist travelers, or provide other personal support. ISRK encourages genuine community support, but we request all members to remain highly cautious. Important Advisory: ISRK does not encourage monetary transactions through Telegram/ WhatsApp groups or community forums. Such transactions should be avoided at all costs, unless there is full authenticity, proper verification, and genuine urgency. Any type of personal dealing, exchange of goods, travel assistance, document handling, medicine carrying, or monetary transaction is done solely at the individual’s own responsibility and risk. ISRK will not be responsible for any loss, fraud, misunderstanding, or dispute arising from such dealings. Members are advised to follow these precautions: 1. Do not exchange money with unknown or unverified individuals. It is always safer to use official money transfer services or apps. Before making any transaction, verify the person's identity by checking their employment/professional details, ARC, registered address, and passport (where appropriate). Speak to them over a phone call to confirm their identity before proceeding. 2. Be careful if someone initially offers free help but later asks for payment, booking charges, courier fees, customs fees, emergency money, or other expenses. 3. Do not hand over medicines, documents, cash, cards, expensive items, or valuables to strangers without proper verification. 4. Do not share passport copies, ARC details, bank details, OTPs, addresses, or other personal information with unknown persons. 5. For medicines and restricted items, please check airline, customs, and Korean regulations before asking anyone to carry them. 6. Verify the person through mutual contacts, video call, valid ID, and trusted community references before proceeding with any arrangement. 7. Report suspicious posts, payment requests, or scam attempts to the group admins or ISRK team immediately. Let us support each other responsibly while protecting our community from scams. Thankyou
