Niantic Spatial has released Update 3.13.1! For Android. a few fixes after the return of the navigation bar were made to better deal with excess space at the top of the screen. While changed server side, the release notes also mention that the Intel Map was updated to use an API key to fetch Google Maps. The usage of Codename Tokens were also updated: Before, when you bought one, you were forced to switch to a new Username, meaning even if you changed your mind because the new username you wanted to change was unavailable, you had to change to a new name anyway. It is now possible to simply enter your old username to keep it, and you can now also use the token to simply change the capitalization of your old username (for example, from "iuengextra" to "IUENGextra". Interestingly, the release notes also mention that "Uploading 13 Portal Scans of the same Portal ... immediately deploys a Fracker". This is something that has already existed in the game for a long while, so we are unsure why this is mentioned now. If you have an idea, let us know! UPDATE: Apparently there has been a bug where sometimes, Frackers would not deploy after the 13th scan has been uploaded. Assuming the release notes refer to that, this has now been fixed! @IUENG_Extra

Niantic has released Update 3.12.2 which is now rolling out to Agents. For Android, the 3-button navigation bar has finally returned after Unity has introduced a fix for their game engine not long ago which the team was able to test and use. For both platforms, the "Learn More" of the Bounty Passes in the Dispatch screen was fixed so if they are available it once again shows you a button with all the options you have available to buy them. @IUENG_Extra

The ingress.plus website and corresponding Mediagress plugin have been updated! Agents can now not just mark which badges they have obtained but also if they have gotten the Recursion wings for them! In addition, you can now quickly search for a badge by name. Agent profiles can now be categorized and split into the badge category of the site, and a new CMU calculator was added to help you see what the price of a CMU pack is, how much CMU you get per amount of currency as well as how much an item in the Ingress store costs in "real" money. The Mediagress IITC plugin which can be used to contribute to the ever expanding databank of Ingress media was updated and can now show how many new unique Media you have uploaded and which of these Media you were the first to discover! To further confirm that the Q4 anomalies will not contain the usual XM Anomaly events in certain cities, the current Event Promotion on the Google Play Store once again mention that the Apollo Season contains "the last Anomaly battles of the year" and "this is the last season of the year to host live XM Anomaly events". Instead of these, the Q4 Anomaly season will feature Shard Storms on various dates without any concrete locations being revealed as of yet. @IUENG_Extra

An Agent that has recently been in contact with Brian got told that, after asking about the navigation bar that has been hidden a while ago on Android due to a policy change, it may return in the near future. According to Brian, a recent Unity update may have introduced a change that allows the team to reintroduce the 3-button navigation bar. The new Unity update is currently being tested and, if everything works as expected, the navigation bar may return in about a month via a Scanner update. As a workaround until then, if you can already update to Android 17, you can put Ingress into a so called "Bubble" which keeps the navigation bar active at the bottom of the screen as well. ------ Do note that this post should be considered a rumor.
