Why can't we have the best hospitals? We have the money. We need the correct politicians, priorities and will. I'm on a 2 day stay in University of Leuven Hospital. The surgery departments are like a space ship compared to hospitals in Ireland. A sign we could do better. Little paper here, everything is digitised into the cloud. They scan your name wrist band, your temperature and blood pressure etc, all results go to doctors database immediately, along with instructions on medical care. They use Philips technology I believe. It's a also shared centre of research for robotic surgery with the nearby University department. Lots of joined up thinking going on. And the vast majority of the staff are Flemish, not Indian or Filipino. And they are building and expanding the hospital. They spend money on long-use Hospitals, Real capital expenditure not wasted like by the Irish government on NGOs, immigrant welfare and accommodation for economic chancers.
