On Friday, the U.S. Army released the identities of the two soldiers who were killed in a military helicopter crash in Texas on Wednesday. The pilots, who were stationed at Fort Hood, were identified as Chief Warrant Officer 2 Deontre T. Huey and Warrant Officer Seth L. Olmstead, both assigned to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. 🙏🇺🇸 The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but officials said the helicopter “experienced a mishap” during a maintenance test flight. 👀 No other details were provided. A safety investigation team from the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center in Fort Rucker, Alabama, will lead the safety investigation of the mishap. On Friday, President Trump reacted with anger over the vandalism that occurred on Thursday at the D.C. World War II Memorial. He posted on Truth Social, stating, "Our beautiful World War II Memorial was just hit by Spray Painting Vandals. THERE CAN BE NO GREATER INSULT TO THOSE AMERICAN HEROES WHO DIED IN WORLD WAR II. First the Reflecting Pool, now this. We are on their trail! Where do these animals come from???" 👊 Previously, several of the monuments at the Capital have also been vandalized amid the president's efforts to restore key sites and revitalize the nation's capital city. 😵‍💫 Much of the unrest has centered on the Reflecting Pool, which he has renovated as well. On Friday, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) accused Iran of striking two tankers on Thursday, which were traveling the Strait of Hormuz amid the ongoing conflict with the United States. The Ministry of Affairs issued a statement which read, "The United Arab Emirates expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the aggressive Iranian attack that targeted two ADNOC tankers as they were crossing the Strait of Hormuz, without any injuries being reported. The UAE stressed the need for Iran to stop these aggressive attacks in order to ensure its full commitment to halting all hostilities and to fully and unconditionally reopen the Strait, thereby achieving regional security and the stability of the global economy and trade." 👀 Note: Will Iran comply with their neighbor's request? If not, will the UAE get more involved? 🤔 On Friday, President Trump made remarks about the Strait of Hormuz during a speech at the Nassau County Police Academy in New York. He said that he would declare the Strait of Hormuz as U.S. territory after the end of the Iran war, receiving raucous applause from the attendees. 😎 The U.S. currently maintains a naval blockade of the critical waterway, through which as much as 20% of the world's oil supply flows.💥 On Friday, Acting Navy Sec Hung Cao announced that the USS Abraham Lincoln will return home soon from its months-long deployment amid public and family concern about mental health conditions on board the ship. Sailors on the carrier have reportedly attempted to jump overboard amid dire conditions during their extended deployment to the Middle East, according to several service member's families. 🤔 One sailor was reported to have jumped off the ship last week but was rescued. Cao did not give a clear timeline for when the ship would return to the United States but said it was part of a planned rotation. He also blasted the news media for attempting to portray the ship's crew as "victims," stating instead that they are the "epitome of American strength and resilience." The secretary added, "There is no question our young men and women have been pushed to their limits—but they have never broken. They are rightly tired—but have never been out of the fight." 👊🇺🇸 It was also reported that the ship is set to be replaced by the U.S.S. George Washington, which is currently en route.💥 President Trump also spoke with reporters over the family members' purported concerns, responding, "No, they're not." 😎 He added, “That ship is moving right now, or very shortly, and is being replaced with another very similar ship."

The 100-year-old Securities Building was purchased last month for $8.4 MIL by the Philip Qiu and Family Foundation, per the filing, and is located approximately 650 feet northeast of the White House grounds. 👀 According to the Chinese government and university records, Qui has held numerous positions within Chinese intelligence and state security entities. 🤔👀 Several intelligence experts told the outlet that Qui's ownership of the building poses an urgent national security threat and must be investigated by federal authorities. Author and Chinese expert Gordon Chang also weighed in, stating, “No Chinese citizen should be permitted to own, lease, or occupy any real estate that gives him or her the ability to surveil any sensitive federal installation. “No ifs, ands, or buts.” 👊 Note: I would expect that the Trump administration will weigh in on this development. 😎 On Thursday, it was reported that President Trump had issued an order for the U.S. Navy to replace newer magnetic catapults to launch fighter jets with steam-powered catapults. In the directive, it states that the complex designs and repeated design change procedures have resulted in cost growth, delays, and cancellation in shipbuilding. It gives the Secretary of War two months to develop a plan to replace the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System and Advanced Weapons Elevators with steam and hydraulic systems, per the AP. The president has been critical of the technology going back to his first term, claiming the newer systems lack the power of the older steam-powered launchers. 👀 The order designates the fourth Ford-class carrier, the USS Doris Miller, to be the first ship to receive the new changes. 👏 On Friday, the Trump administration asked the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) to rule on allowing construction of the new White House ballroom to proceed.👊 This comes after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. District issued a 2-1 ruling on Aug 7th to uphold a preliminary injunction in an effort to stop construction of the $400 million ballroom on the White House's demolished East Wing. The injunction was issued after the National Trust for Historic Preservation sued the administration last year after it tore down the East Wing, without the approval of Congress, to which a judge agreed. 🤬 In today's filing, Solicitor General D. John Sauer said the injunction, if allowed to go into effect, "would wrongfully install a single district judge as sole arbiter of what further construction is ‘strictly necessary’ to protect the safety of the President, his family, staff members, and visitors to the White House, including foreign dignitaries, and presidents and prime ministers of other countries," per NBC News. 💯 The appeals court ruling has yet to go into effect, with construction continuing until SCOTUS decides whether they will weigh in. The deadline for the justices to act is Aug. 21. NOTE: Make it happen, SCOTUS! 👊
