The graph gives information about the proportion of sugar in 7 different foods. Overall, chocolate bar stands out as the food with the highest sugar content, while the reverse is true for ketchup. Chocolate cake and soda, followed by crackers and peanut butter, also contain relatively high amounts of sugar. Focusing first on the foods that hold high levels of sugar, chocolate bar comes out on top, with 33.2% of its content made up of sugar. The second most sugary food across the baord is chocolate cake, at 30.3%. Then comes soda, whose ingredient profile includes 28.9% sugar. When it comes to less sugary foods, ice cream is made up around 21.4% of sugar, a figure that is almost twice as high as that of crackers. Peanut butter also holds a relatively low dose of the ingredient,, constituting 9.2%. At the lowest end of the spectrum stands ketchup, nutritional value of which shows 8.8% sugar. • Recently, the world has seen tremendous progress in agricultural fields, with technology playing a major part in this advancement. However, the problem of hunger in many parts of the globe has yet to be solved. In this essay, I will explore the underlying reasons behind this phenomenon and propose viable solutions to mitigate its impact. One of the major drivers of hunger in this technologically advanced era is the growing rate of unemployment. It is undoubtedly true that the modern world is exceptionally competitive, with millions of prospective candidates vying for every single opportunity in the job market. As a result, those who are not competent and fit enough to thrive are highly likely to struggle to meet ends meet and cover their basic daily needs, including food and nutrition. To make matters worse, the cost of living is also surging on a large and global scale. Meanwhile, the average level of salaries and wages has significantly declined worldwide. Therefore, ensuring sustenance has become extremely difficult, with many ordinary members of society struggling hard to put food on the table for themselves and their families. However, with proactive measures, these issues can be effectively addressed. Firstly, governments should put enough effort into creating new job opportunities to tackle the problem of unemployment. This can be achieved by providing subsidies and financial aid for ordinary people to start their own businesses or establish a stable source of income. Secondly, on an individual level, people can cultivate vegetables and fruits in their gardens or fields. This can allow them to provide for themselves, without having to turn to the government for fiscal help. Additionally, individuals should take responsibility and try to make most of what officials have to offer, such as financial aids, loans, and jobs offered by governmental institutions. In conclusion, the problem of hunger, which is not completely solved by the recent technological advancements, is a complex one that necessitates careful consideration. While this issue can be attributed to unemployment and the growing cost of living, it can be efficiently mitigated by governmental efforts to allot sufficient economic and job-related assistance to ordinary people and individuals' attempt to provide for themselves. #writteninlesson (30 minutes) Estimated band score: 7.5-8.0 Written by @talisman_english

  • Some say that governments should provide care and finance for retired people, while others believe that people themselves should save money when they get older. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. Recently, the question of who should provide support for the retired has left many people no closer to a definitive answer. While some argue that governments should ensure financial support for retired individuals, others contend that people should save money and take personal responsibility for their lives after employment. In this essay, I will explore both sides of the argument and provide my own stance on the matter. On one hand, proponents of governmental support for the elderly assert that every worker plays a crucial role in the fiscal and national development of a country. Throughout their fertile years of life, many people contribute greatly to the economy and society, with some even making breakthroughs in important fields, such as science, medicine, and education, which raise their country’s global profile in terms of financial and national status. As a result, when retired, these individuals are eligible to receive commensurate compensation for their contributions in the national progress as a whole, morally necessitating support and care on the part of governments. On the other hand, opponents argue that it is primarily the responsibility of people themselves to ensure a secure financial provision for their life in retirement. Requiring governments to provide financial aid can divert resources from other essential sectors, such as infrastructure, healthcare, and education. This takes its toll on the holistic development of the nation, which those who are retired have themselves strived hard for over the entire period of their employment. Therefore, in order to at least take care of themselves, people should try to put an adequate amount of money aside for the years in which they can no longer contribute to the national development. At the same time, I believe that it is crucial to strike a balance between government and personal accountability when it comes to financial provision for the elderly. As they have provided much-needed intellectual and physical workforce for their country in their productive periods of life, elderly individuals undoubtedly deserve governmental support in finances. However, this by no means absolves individuals of their responsibility to establish a safe financial base for the years to come on the heel of their professional life. Thus, to provide the best possible life for retired people, it is essential to equally prioritize governmental and personal support with regards to fiscal matters. In conclusion, economic provision for the elderly is a complex issue that necessitates a careful consideration. While governments are morally bound to ensure sufficient financial support for retired people who have contributed to the overall national development, individuals are also expected to strive diligently to create a secure fiscal life for themselves after they retire. Ultimately, I am firmly convinced that both the state and individuals should play an equally important role in fiscal sustainability in one’s retired life, which makes it important to take a holistic approach encompassing both governmental and personal efforts.#essay (479 words) Estimated band score: 8.0-8.5 Written by @talisman_english

  • Nowadays, some parents put a lot of pressure on children to succeed. What are the reasons for doing this? Do you think it is a positive or negative development? Recently, there has been a trend of many parents exerting excessive pressure to succeed in various facets of their lives. In my opinion, while this phenomenon can be attributed to the competitive nature of the current society and parents’ desire for their children to achieve financial freedom, it can be deemed to be a positive but majorly negative development. One of the underlying causes of placing undue pressure on children to strive hard for success is the competitive landscape of the modern world. Today, the competition in almost every aspect of the educational and professional realms is fiercer than ever, with millions of candidates rivalling for every single scholarship in academic institutions and a niche in the global market. This frequently results in parents placing demanding expectations and objectives on their children’s shoulders to excel both academically and professionally. Another reason is the disadvantaged backgrounds many parents inherently represent. It is undoubtedly true that a vast array of people live in poverty and financial deprivation, struggling to even accommodate their basic daily needs and ensure a safe shelter for themselves. As a result, these individuals expect their children to lift them out of poverty and fiscal uncertainties they are mired in, therefore excessively encouraging these young people to prosper and secure financial stability. Undoubtedly, there are some positive aspects of encouraging the young to thrive in every endeavor they pursue. Firstly, such an encouragement for success instills young children with a sense of discipline, determination, and consistency, qualities that are exceptionally essential for children to be able to efficiently navigate the complexities of the world in the long run. Secondly, due to parental pressure to succeed, children can gain academic and professional prowess in their chosen fields, increasing the chances of them securing a suitable position in an established company and become financially independent. However, the negative sides of intense pressure are so monumental that the positive aspects described above completely pale in comparison. When children are constantly encouraged to be the best in their pursuits, it can lead to a sense of lowered self-worth and confidence, as it is exceptionally difficult to outcompete numerous other contenders in today’s world. To make matters even worse, continuously working and acquiring knowledge, without a respite to unwind and relax, can cause young people to feel overwhelmed, depressed, and burnout, negatively affecting their physical and mental wellbeing. Furthermore, when children are exclusively consumed by their success-based endeavors, they cannot manage to develop other essential skills, such as relationship management, communication abilities, and emotional control. Thus, these young people might not be able to grow into well-rounded individuals and thrive in other aspects of their lives than their desired fields. In conclusion, while the reasons for the increased pressure on children to succeed are associated with the competition presented by society and the intention for economic prosperity, the instilment of essential skills and attainment of financial stability are the potential benefits offered by this heightened emphasis on perseverance and effort. Nevertheless, I contend that the negative repercussions resulted in by this phenomenon are far greater, including low self-esteem, excessive physical strain, mental burnout, and an extremely narrow skillset. #task2 #essay (525 words) Estimated band score: 8.0-8.5 Written by @talisman_english
