How to Get the best out of IELTS Passages (in practice conditions) From my personal observation, I see many students waste IELTS Passages by only completing the questions and never coming back to them again. Little do they know that IELTS is a standard test and there are patterns, including the reading passages. They tend to contain some spectrum of vocabulary that can commonly be found across many authentic materials. So, here is how you efficiently use each passage: Step 1 - Read for the content and Learn new words Apart from being an exam test, Passages are - in most cases - so informative and provide fascinating insights about different subjects. Before doing the test, read the passages for fun. No timer. No pressure. Just read them for joy and entertainment. As you read them, write down the new words and memorize them for you may encounter them in the next passages. Don't bother yourself with questions at this point. Step 2 - Oral translation at first sight, you may seem like you understand them, but for many students, they can't actually grasp the implied meaning by the author - which makes the passages difficult for those oblivious about it. To make sure that you truly understand them, you should orally and loudly translate them sentence by sentence to your own native language, etc Uzbek, Russian. Yes, it can be time-consuming, and yes, you may not find it easy to, but you don't understand unless you can't explain) Step 3 - Walking the walk By this stage, you've already understood what the passage is about and you know all the words. Now, it's a perfect moment to complete the questions. Don't set any timer. Take your time and try to get all the answers right. If you don't know how to approach questions, you can watch my high quality video lessons on my Youtube Channel. Step 4 - Analysis What's equally important as boosting comprehension and vocabulary is analyzing your answers. Every time you make a mistake and then understand why you make that mistake, your brain improves its decision-making. That 'aha' moment is crucial for your brain not to repeat the same mistakes again. Check your answers, visit the passage it needed, and get to the logic of each question. During the analyze, make a paraphrase table. it significantly boosts your understanding on how IELTS questions are made. Step 5 - Activation This stage is my personal one as it greatly increases your chance of memorizing the new words and the context. Once everything is done, you can then either write a summary or retell the passage. As you do one of these two thing, try your best - or push yourself - to use the new words you learn from the passage. In the hardest cases, you can simple explain the context these words are used or simply tell the definition. Revisiting the vocabulary right after you finish the passage engrave them to your mind, helping you remember them better. As a footnote, you can use the same activation exercise for other forms of materials, like videos or books as it is flexible and quite fun to do. As someone who scored 8.5 in Reading, I can assure you that it's more about the persistence and general ability of being able to grasp what you read rather than "secret techniques". I hope these techniques help you with conquering the IELTS reading and if you've come so far, please share this posts with others prepping for IELTS so that they can get the same befits you get from it. Never give up, warrior. You've got this! @MuhammadMuslim_shares #tips #reading

If you were on that ship, what would be your “siren song”?
The question is… Odyssey or Spider-man: brand new day?
You know where you are with… Hysterical and useless, Hysterical and Let down and hanging around…
I told this before, I'll tell this again. The most productive way to start your day is to wake up early and not going back to sleep after Fajr. The early 3-4 hours are equal to the rest of your day.
