Hi Animals! OzFurs, the group who organise and run the furry float in the Mardi Gras parade have asked for some assistance with running the float this year! The Mardi Gras committee has decided to halve their attendance to 40 participants which means the entry must be drastically reworked or withdrawn entirely. The team had lengthy discussions on workarounds, and we have an idea to make the float look full, and give people who would usually attend an opportunity to subtly protest this decision and still be present. Our amazing artist Maxx will be doing customised ‘YCH’ style commissions, with a selection of poses and pride flag theming for you, to be attached on the truck. These will be ‘bust’ commissions – from the waist up and about a metre tall. They will be sublimation printed on high-quality fabric, adhered to corflute and attached to the side of the truck. After the event, these will be removed and delivered to their commissioners. Art supporters will have the option to reserve an attendance slot for the following year’s entry, pending attendance caps. We will also have a custom shirt design done by the Aurawra GoH artist Blueroo, which will be available for purchase too! The design and pricing for that will be revealed soon. The price for the commission, printing and delivery will be $110, if you wish to be featured and already have your own artwork, we can accept these too, for the same price. This is more difficult, because we have to manually check size/resolution/file format with the printing company, but we’re willing to try. We need SFW, solo/couple pinup art – no backgrounds. Below is an example of the printing we’ve done in previous years and the poses you will be able to choose from. Pride flags/colourings are all customisable. We only have six days left to make this call and proceed or withdraw. if you are interested in this route please join our chat and let us know but you will have to pay the amount within two weeks. Maxx needs references to start work as soon as possible and we have lead times for printing around the holiday period to work around as well. Should you want to join we recommend you join our chat so that you cna let us know. If we don’t get the numbers we need, we will have to withdraw. At this moment, we need about forty slots filled within the next two weeks. If there is a lot of interest, we will work to get these extra commissions drawn as well. OzFurs asks you to please help keep this proud, long-standing, internationally known event running.
