The formal blog post for the announcement of the PinePhone 3D file has been released! https://pine64.org/2026/07/25/pinephone3dfiles_2026/
Not everything is DOOM and gloom. Because you can play DOOM on your PineNote (yay!). There's a video demo out there somewhere ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkivm-8nq-o <-- right there
Hey everyone, we've got a quick update for you today. * 2z.au has released a Fedora image for the PineTab2 with included DanctNIX patches. Instructions and images can be found on their website: https://2z.au/posts/pinetab2-fedora/ * A few people have been asking about our YouTube channel. Unfortunately, we may or may not have lost immediate access to the old YouTube channel as the account that owns it cannot be logged into anymore (it's complicated). Expect new content on this channel like demos, tutorials (recovery, installation, etc), interviews and Q&As. You can find our new YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8V7_9hQ8fteh6I3DWEudjw
PineVoice Release Announcement Well, it's finally here. After two years of hardware and software development we are happy to introduce to you, the PineVoice (formally PineVox) Home Assistant speaker. The PineVoice features on device wake word detection, a duel microphone array, hardware volume and microphone cut off/mute buttons. The firmware also supports the Wyoming Satellite protocol. In terms of hardware specifications we are looking at: CPU: Bouffalo BL606P (1x T-Head C906@480 MHz, 1x T-Head E907@320MHz) Memory: 32 MiB pSRAM, 788KB SRAM Storage: 16 MiB Flash Wireless: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.x Dual-mode (BT+BLE) The speaker can be used on your own local cloud or you may decide to use Home Assistant’s cloud service instead. Pair it with a Quartz64, Rock64 or Avaota A1 to host your Home Assistant instance (hey, that rhymed! XD). Additionally, the PineVoice has an optional Zigbee dongle accessory to plug into your server running Home Assistant. This allows Home Assistant to see your Zigbee smart devices, but is completely optional if you don’t use Zigbee. Finally, the software for the PineVoice is not final and will see improvements in the future. Full transparency here, we were pinned to the wall with a strict production deadline. What is shipping works well but with some issues such as wake word detection. We are looking to use a better model for it in the future. On behalf of everyone in the community I would like to thank Gamiee for their hard work on the PineVoice firmware. It would not have been possible to release the device at all without him. I surely owe him some sort of drink at least 🍻. Lets give a cheers to Gamiee! The PineVoice is currently on sale for $49.99 USD and the Zigbee dongle is selling for $14.99 USD. A few announcements today! We know a lot of people have been asking when the sealed PineTime would return. Today we are happy share that the new batch of sealed PineTime's are now available on PineStore's website. https://pine64.com/product/pinetime-smartwatch-sealed/ As for the PineTime Pro, lots of initial bring-up work is being done by JF and Gamiee. Once the current prototype is finalized, PineStore will start a pilot batch for pioneer developers. Stay tuned! And finally for those who have been waiting for the PineVoice (formally PineVox) Home Assistant speaker, we have been given a PineStore launch date of the 15th of June! Please note though that the firmware shipping on the PineVoice is still in beta as some further improvements can be made. Firmware improvements will come in time. Annnnd that's about it right now. Have a great day/afternoon/evening/night!
Quick overall update Hello everyone, wanted to do a quick overall update on what's been happening recently. Life has been pretty busy but there's lots of nice stuff happening in the background that we'd like to share. The PineVoice Home Assistant speaker (formally PineVox) is in its final stages. Production begins. Further on this, there will be limited bundle with this device which will include a PineVoice, Zigbee dongle, power supply and two matter modules. Pair it with a SBC of choice and run your Home Assistant instance locally! The current PineTime LCD is EOL and a new one is replacing it, though it is essentially the same display. These will be shipping in the next PineTime batch. New PineTime Pro samples have been received by developers. Shiny! We are also interested to know if people are still interested in LoRa hardware. Specifically nodes targeting firmware like MeshCore rather than LoRaWAN. What form factor of nodes interest you the most? Important recent community updates: danctnix PineTab2 updates (including factory image): https://social.treehouse.systems/@danctnix/116493536602596537 piggz@fosstodon.org PinePhone, PinePhone Pro, PineTab2 all updated to kernel 7.0, and improved USB config. Zypper ref and dup to update. machaddr@mastodon.sdf.org with their new Gentoo PineTab-V image: https://social.treehouse.systems/@machaddr@mastodon.sdf.org/116550551558106497
Hey everyone, we'd like to make a public disclosure to the community about a product currently selling on the PineStore website (pine64.com). The current Desktop PinePower V2 batch has an issue where in some situations the USB-C ports will report "0V" when there is obviously something attached. In reality it is actually outputting the correct voltage. This has been fixed for future batches, but the current batch still has stock available. There is no fix available for affected Desktop PinePower V2 batches as the MCU can only be flashed at the factory. We have no ETA when the fixed batch will start production as this depends on the rest of the buggered batch being sold. We'll let you all know when the fixed ones hit the store. And PLEASE don't open your PinePowers as they're high voltage power supplies (dangerous, shocking even!). Hopefully that is obvious to most :) Thanks!
PineTime Pro introduction Hello again, JF has written a blog post going into detail on the new PineTime Pro, its hardware and some pre-production information. https://pine64.org/2026/03/28/pinetime_march_2026/
FOSDEM 2026 Blog Post Hi everyone, welcome to the first but hopefully not last community update of the year. In this update we share what we discussed at FOSDEM (PinePhone 2, community editions, DRAM shortage), what we demoed at our stand at FOSDEM and details on the PineTime Pro. Next month will have the main community update which we will do our best to push out (touch wood). https://pine64.org/2026/03/24/march_2026_fosdem/
As the leadup to FOSDEM 2026 approaches, we wish to ask community members attending if there are any components for PINE64 hardware that they wish to pick up. TL Lim from PineStore will bring some spare parts such as Pinecil cases, screws, PineTime straps and PinePhone (Pro) batteries to the community stand. However don't expect mainboards (even for the Pinecil) to be brought. We'll forward requests to TL Lim and will reply if the request is possible or not.
Hey folks! The PINE64 community will be at FOSDEM this year. Our location will be K1-A-11, Sunday only! We'll be showing off some new and old hardware along with some demos. Community members Ralim (IronOS), JF (InfiniTime), Gamiee (PineVoice), Caffeine (Community Manager), Shymega (OpenPineBuds), TL Lim (PineStore founder) and others will be in attendance this year! See you there!
We've been discussing what to do with the mediawiki website for a while as it has not been actively maintained for over two years now. Read this post for more info before voting https://social.treehouse.systems/@pine64/115404491151619625
Quick update regarding the PinePhone Pro refurbished batch There was some talk going around that the refurbished stock had already gone. This is incorrect as they have not been put onto the store yet. PineStore are currently organizing the inventory before it's put onto the online store. We aren't notified when products go on sale, so don't wait on an announcement before you go check the store.
As promised there is now a guide along with templates (and even banners!) for developers to make their own project updates to upload to the Pine64 community blog. The guide will continue to get updated when possible. https://pine64.org/documentation/Introduction/Writing_a_blog_post/
August Community Update Hello everyone, welcome back to another community update! In this update we announce a new community manager, updates to the PineTab2 and PineNote, FreeBSD on the PinePhone Pro, a guide on upstreaming PinePhone Pro patches and a small bit for you Pinecil users. It's finally finished, hope you all enjoy 🙂↕️. https://pine64.org/2025/08/16/august_2025/
A quick update concerning PinePhone Pro availability As some may have heard, the PinePhone Pro has indeed been discontinued. This is due to low sales and therefore no longer being viable for the PineStore to produce. Spare parts may continue to be produced for up to two years depending on how well sales go. If you still want one, at the end of this month refurbished PinePhone Pros will go on sale just like after the PineBook Pro was discontinued. So this will be your last chance to nab one. On the other hand, the PinePhone (A64) will continue to be sold for around two years. It is currently still selling well. As for the future of ARM products from the PineStore. It is not likely as the PineStore has moved focus onto RISC-V and LLMs/AI. This change can be seen looking at the recent product launches (Oz64, Star(/Pro)64 and Alpha One). And just a quick reminder that as the community we do not have knowledge about any future products. At this current point in time there is no currently known plans for a new PinePhone. And I think that's it, have a great rest of the week!
Update on shipping to the US The PineStore have just set up a special shipping arrangement for US customers. This is done in bulk and will cost customers more, in turn the shipping will be quicker. Please note that they can't guarantee whether you'll have to pay any extra tax at the border. There is also a 100 USD total cart value limit, this is due to risk as the PineStore are using a flat charge for the shipping method.
Happy April (no fools this year)! Another community update is here. This month we report on the return of the PineTab-V, the release of our micro soldering tip set, the imminent release of the StarPro64 SBC and software improvements to the PineTab 2 and PineNote. And Charlie the Pinecorn returns for April too 😉 . https://pine64.org/2025/04/13/april_2025/
Updated PineTab-V devices are here! There have been some notable hardware improvements to the device since the last batch. * An accelerometer was added to the device * Resolved slow charging while the device is turned off * An LED status indicator light has been added to the device (similar to the PinePhone) * Added a proper ID for the PineTab-V in the EEPROM The new default operating system was developed by StarFive (thanks!) and is based on Debian. Both cameras and hardware acceleration work out of the box with this default OS*. *HEVC and MJPEG hardware decoding does not currently work in Firefox. https://pine64.com/product/pinetab-v-10-1-8gb-128gb-risc-v-based-linux-tablet-with-detached-backlit-keyboard/
Shipping to USA/America suspended until further notice. All the shipment to US will also be subject to the tariff tax. The discussions with the PineStore shipping team will begin tomorrow. More information: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/usps-suspends-packages-china-hong-kong/
