Blood product and fluid in pediatric If we have on 5% GW so we tack 1cc of 50% for every 10 cc of 5% GW

- It is not uncommon to find urate crystals, which have an orange or red, brick dust color, in a newborn baby's diaper - normal finding - Urate crystals are made up of uric acid, an end product of normal metabolism. Babies are born with a high blood uric acid level because of the amount they get across the placenta, and this is quickly excreted in the urine and stool - If a baby is not making much urine at this time, these urate crystals will be especially concentrated and easy to see. - As your baby increases his or her feeds the urine will become less concentrated and the staining will disappear.

**During the first week of life, the normal number of wet diapers a day should equal the infant's ageindays(eg, a 4-day-old Infant should have >4 wet diapers aday).
