Design Three-Phase Separators
Design Two-Phase Separators
1- Level Switch Low Low (LSLL): the lowest safety level at which the equipment can operate without compromising the downstream system. If you have a pump, it must guarantee the minimum NPSHa, for instance. The system will shut down if this level is reached. 2- Level Switch Low (LSL): is the level of liquid below normal conditions. It will trigger an alarm for the operator, alerting them that the level is lower than it should be. 3- Normal Liquid Level (NLL): is the normal liquid level. It should be the level kept to guarantee the residence time in the vessel. 4- Level Switch High (LSH): is the level above the normal condition. It will trigger an alarm for the operator, alerting the level is higher than it should be. 5- Level Switch High High (LSHH): is the highest level at which the equipment can operate without compromising the downstream system. If you have a compressor, it must guarantee you will not have an excess of liquid droplets going to the compressor, for instance. The system will shut down if this level is reached. .

Introduction to Software for Chemical Engineers Mariano Martín Martín 3rd Edition 2025
The field of chemical engineering and its link to computer science is in constant evolution and engineers have an ever-growing variety of tools at their disposal to tackle everyday problems. Introduction to Software for Chemical Engineers, Third Edition provides a quick guide to the use of various computer packages for chemical engineering applications. It covers a range of software applications, including Excel and general mathematical packages such as MATLAB®, MathCAD, R, and Python. Coverage also extends to process simulators such as CHEMCAD, HYSYS and Aspen; equation-based modeling languages such as gPROMS; optimization software such as GAMS, AIMS and Julia; and specialized software like CFD or DEM codes. The different packages are introduced and applied to solve typical problems in fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, mass and energy balances, unit operations, reactor engineering, and process and equipment design and control. .

Chemical Engineering Design: Principles, Practice and Economics of Plant and Process Design Gavin Towler, Ray Sinnott 3rd Edition, 2022 .
Chemical Engineering Design: Principles, Practice and Economics of Plant and Process Design is one of the best-known and most widely adopted texts available for students of chemical engineering. The text deals with the application of chemical engineering principles to the design of chemical processes and equipment. The third edition retains its hallmark features of scope, clarity and practical emphasis, while providing the latest US codes and standards, including API, ASME and ISA design codes and ANSI standards, as well as coverage of the latest aspects of process design, operations, safety, loss prevention, equipment selection, and more. The text is designed for chemical and biochemical engineering students - senior undergraduate year, plus appropriate for capstone design courses where taken- and professionals in industry - chemical process, biochemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical sectors. 1- Provides students with a text of unmatched relevance for chemical process and plant design courses and for the final year capstone design course. 2- Written by practicing design engineers with extensive undergraduate teaching experience. 3- Contains more than 100 typical industrial design projects drawn from a diverse range of process industries. 4- Includes new content covering food, pharmaceutical and biological processes and commonly used unit operations. 5- Provides updates on plant and equipment costs, regulations and technical standards. 6- Includes limited online access for students to Cost Engineering’s Cleopatra Enterprise cost estimating software. .
