I've already left the cardiologist's office. Luckily, she doesn't have any problems with her heart. They thought he had some kind of heart problem in addition to his gastrointestinal issues, but apparently not. They told me what to do next; most likely I don't have cancer but a gastrointestinal problem that will require lifelong treatment. I still have to take her for checkups, her ultrasounds and blood tests in a month, and take her to a nutritionist for a special diet. A quick update on my cat, I've started the treatment she was prescribed, and although there are still some things to do, I've noticed some progress. She doesn't vomit as much anymore, and she doesn't ask for as much food because she's probably digesting it better than before (since before she often vomited what she ate). Today I went to the vet, after a long wait they told me the two possible things my cat has: either she has inflammatory gastrointestinal disease or she has lymphoma (cancer). To continue with the treatment, I must either pay approximately $1200 for a biopsy, which also has its risks since it's an operation on an older cat to find out exactly what she has, or start a treatment and see if it helps. What I absolutely must do is a cardiology exam that costs $250, since they couldn't hear the left side of her chest properly, which could mean he has a mass or fluid in her chest The prognosis isn't good; if she has cancer, they told me she could have months to live. I don't really know what to do, and everything is confusing.

It's confirmed, I have to go to the clinic at 8 am on Sunday so they can tell me what treatment to give my cat and how serious it is. But what a veterinarian friend told me has worried me. He said: "How on earth can that cat still be standing and meowing?"
