The Multinational Youth Geography Olympiad (MY-GEO) 2026 will be held in the Sirius Federal Territory, Russian Federation, from October 24 to 31, 2026. The Olympiad will bring together school students from BRICS countries and other nations with an interest in geography, balanced territorial development, and the interplay between nature, society, and the economy. The working language of the Olympiad is English.  School students aged 15 to 18 inclusive are eligible to participate, forming teams of 2 to 6 members. Each team may be accompanied by two team leaders and up to two observers (aged 18 or over). Accommodation and meals for participants and team leaders are provided by the host side. Travel expenses are covered by the sending side. Participation of observers is financed separately through an organizational fee of 162 350 Birr (equivalent 85,000 Russian rubles). Space Without Borders: International Cooperation and Humanitarian Mission in Ethiopia 🚀 The round table "Space Without Borders: Uniting the World Through Education, Science, and Humanitarian Partnership" took place on July 29, 2026, as part of the World Public Summit: Africa "New World: Africa in Shaping a Shared Future." The discussion brought together experts from Russia, Brazil, Spain, Tunisia, Uganda, and Ethiopia, including Hero of the Russian Federation and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Skripochka. Participants discussed international cooperation in space education and science, the development of public diplomacy, space medicine, and humanitarian initiatives. A practical continuation of the discussion was an international humanitarian mission by the UNITY Charity Foundation. Supported by the Russian Embassy and the Russian House in Ethiopia, the "Space Art Therapy" program was implemented for patients at Ethiopia's largest pediatric oncology center—Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital, at the site of the Tesfa Addis Parents and Childhood Cancer Organisation. Together with Oleg Skripochka, the children drew their dreams. These drawings will become part of a real space mission. Previously, on July 14, 2026, as part of the "Dream Rocket II" project, drawings by children from Russia and eight other countries were applied to the hull of a Soyuz launch vehicle and sent into space. During the meeting, the cosmonaut spoke to the children about his spaceflights and inspired them to be creative. For many participants, this was their first introduction to the world of space exploration. As part of the program, tactile reproductions of artwork from the international art project "Angels of Peace," including space-themed pieces, were presented to the oncology center and the foundation. Additionally, the delegation of round table speakers visited the Entoto Observatory and Space Science Research Center—East Africa's first astronomical center, as well as the Space Science and Geospatial Institute of Ethiopia, where they discussed prospects for scientific and humanitarian cooperation.
