🥀 We offer our deepest condolences to Imam Mahdi (ajtfs), Leader of the Revolution Imam Mojtaba Khamenei (h), the nation of Iran, the people of the Resistance Front, and the entire world on the 40th day of Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei’s martyrdom. Imam Khamenei (r) stood firm against the tyrants of the world, from the American-backed Shah during the struggle of the Islamic Revolution. He endured torture in the Shah’s prisons but continued his mission under the leadership of Imam Khomeini (r). The Islamic Revolution later achieved great success, establishing a system based on Islamic values in Iran. Within a short time, with the backing of America and global powers, the oppressor Saddam Hussein (may Allah curse him) imposed war on the Islamic Republic of Iran, resulting in vast caravans of martyrs. Imam Khamenei (r) served as President during the war and spent much of his time on the frontlines alongside the fighters of the revolution. After the demise of Imam Khomeini (r), the Assembly of Experts elected Imam Khamenei (r) as the second Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic. He dedicated his life to serving the nation until he attained martyrdom on February 28, 2026, in an American-Israeli terrorist attack on his home, alongside members of his family and close companions. During the American-backed ISIS (Daesh) attacks in Iraq and Syria, the martyred Imam stood firm against global powers. He supported the resistance in Iraq and Syria in every way possible, preventing ISIS from reaching the holy shrines of Sayyidah Zaynab (a), Sayyidah Ruqaiyah (a), and the sacred shrines of Imam Ali (a), Imam Hussain (a), as well as those in Kadhmain and Samarra. Through this, millions of innocent lives were protected across the region and beyond. He also played a central role in developing a strong, indigenous security model across Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and allied nations, which remains one of his greatest achievements. Imam Khamenei (r) played a significant role in the cause of Palestine. He supported the Palestinian people and resistance with unwavering commitment, providing moral, political, and material assistance in all forms possible. He stood as a pillar of support for the Islamic Resistance and Jihad front across the world in the face of the global system of oppression. From Hezbollah in Lebanon to Ansarallah in Yemen, to resistance forces in Iraq and Syria, his influence and guidance shaped the resistance across nations. Imam Khamenei (r) was not merely a leader but a fatherly figure for the Resistance Front, the Iranian nation, and Shia communities worldwide. His martyrdom is not only a national or religious loss, but a deeply personal loss felt by millions across different countries and faiths. “And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. (1/3) At the beginning of my remarks, I must offer my condolences to my master—may God hasten his reappearance—on the heartbreaking martyrdom of the great leader of the Revolution, the wise and beloved Khamenei. I ask him to pray for each and every member of the great nation of Iran, indeed for all Muslims of the world, for all servants of Islam and the Revolution, for the self-sacrificing fighters and the families of the martyrs of the Islamic movement—especially those of the recent war—and also for this humble servant. The second part of my remarks is addressed to the great nation of Iran. First, I must briefly explain my position regarding the vote of the honorable Assembly of Experts. This servant of yours, Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, learned of the result of the vote at the same time as you, through the broadcasting of the Islamic Republic. For me, sitting in the place once occupied by two great leaders—the great Khomeini and the martyred Khamenei—is a difficult task. This seat has been occupied by someone who, after more than sixty years of struggle in the path of God and renouncing all kinds of pleasures and comforts, became a shining jewel and a distinguished figure not only in our era but throughout the history of the rulers of this country. Both his life and the manner of his death were intertwined with the grandeur and dignity that came from reliance on the Truth. I had the honor of seeing his body after his martyrdom. What I saw was a mountain of firmness, and I heard that his healthy hand was clenched into a fist. Those who know the various aspects of his personality must speak about them for a long time. Here I suffice with this brief mention and leave the details for other appropriate occasions. This is why taking the seat of leadership after such a person is difficult; bridging this gap is possible only with the help of God and the support of you, the people. I must also emphasize a point directly related to my remarks. One of the arts of the martyred leader and his great predecessor was bringing the people into every arena, giving them constant awareness and insight, and relying on their strength in practice. In this way they actualized the true meaning of the republic and republicanism and sincerely believed in it. The clear effect of this was seen in these few days when the country was without a leader and without a commander-in-chief. The insight and intelligence of the great Iranian nation in the recent events, and its steadfastness and courage, amazed enemies and earned admiration from friends. It was you, the people, who led the country and guaranteed its strength. The verse cited at the beginning of this writing means that no sign of God ends or is forgotten except that God replaces it with something similar or better. The purpose of citing this verse is not to claim that this servant is equal to the martyred leader—let alone superior to him—but rather to draw attention to the prominent role of the people. If that great blessing was taken from us, another blessing was granted in its place: the Ammar-like presence of the Iranian nation. Know that if your power does not appear in the field, neither the leadership nor any governmental institution—whose real function is to serve the people—will have the necessary effectiveness. To achieve this: First, reliance upon God and the pure lights of the infallible ones must be regarded as the greatest elixir guaranteeing victory. Second, unity among all segments of the nation must not be damaged.
