  • Singapore Convention Week 2026 Interested in participating in the Singapore Convention Week in late August? You have the opportunity to attend a networking seminar ‘Mediation Ethics at the Frontier’ (https://imimediation.org/2026/07/21/save-the-date-mediation-ethics-at-the-frontier/) jointly organised by Society of Mediation Professionals (Singapore) (SMP), International Mediation Institute (IMI) and Weinstein International Foundation (that organizes an annual mediation writing competition in Singapore). Prof Dorcas Quek Anderson, a member of the IMI Ethics Committee and Exco Member of SMP, will be one of the panelists. You may attend online (free) or in-person (S$60 registration fee). Up to 5 students who email Prof Quek at dorcasquek@smu.edu.sg will be entitled to free admission.

  • Maxwell Challenge: Call for Volunteers! Dear Students, The Maxwell Challenge (https://www.maxwellchambers.com/maxwellchallenge/) will be held between 27 and 30 August 2026, in conjunction with the Singapore Convention Week 2026 (https://www.singaporeconventionweek.sg). This is the very first international mediation competition held in Singapore. SMU is participating in both the mediator and negotiator categories. The organizing committee is looking for student volunters: (a) 3-5 volunteers available on Friday 28 Aug (full day) and (b) 1-2 volunteers on Saturday 29 Aug (afternoon). Volunteers will assist with general administrative and logistical tasks, including acting as room coordinators/timekeepers, assisting with registration, helping teams and assessors between rooms, and providing general support throughout the competition. This is a good opportunity for you to observe international teams and professional judges. Interested students should email Assoc Prof Dorcas Quek Anderson (dorcasquek@smu.edu.sg) as soon as possible .

  • [A&O NLU Jodhpur International Deal Negotiation Competition (A&O NLUJ IDNC) 2025] A&O NLUJ IDNC 2025 is organised by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of National Law University, Jodhpur, in partnership with A&O Shearman. In this year's edition, SMU emerged as Champions.
