✅NABARD Launches RSVC-AMRIT Platform for Rural Innovation 👉On 15 August 2026, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India (GoI), Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, launched the RSVC-AMRIT platform, developed by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (OPSA), to strengthen rural innovation and technology transfer. 👉The launch event was  attended by Dr. Shaji Krishnan V., Chairman, NABARD, along with representatives from various stakeholder organisations

✍️ The extension of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) till 2028, with an allocation of Rs 1.51 lakh crore. ▪️ Launched in August 2019, the JJM aimed to provide Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) to deliver 55 litres per capita per day (lpcd) drinking water to all rural households in the country by 2024. ▪️ It is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, implemented by the Ministry of Jal Shakti. ▪️ The mission is implemented in partnership with States, with funding shared between the Centre and States. 📌 The current Union Minister of Jal Shakti is Chandrakant Raghunath Patil (C. R. Patil), who represents the Navsari constituency in Gujarat in the 18th Lok Sabha.

✍️ Ministry of Health and Family Welfare commenced nationwide celebrations to mark the 10th anniversary of the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) under the theme 10 Years of PMSMA – A Decade of Care. ✍️ The Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) is a national flagship health program designed to provide assured, comprehensive, and completely free antenatal care (ANC) universally to all pregnant women across India. ✍️ Commemorative Release: The government issued a special ₹75 commemorative coin and a ₹5 postal stamp to mark the 10 years of transformative maternal healthcare. ✍️ Key Achievements of PMSMA (as of June 2025): 👉 Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) reduced from 130 (2014–16) to 80 (2021–23). 6.19 crore pregnant women examined under PMSMA. 👉 78.27 lakh High-Risk Pregnancies identified under E-PMSMA. 👉 Strengthened public-private partnerships and community participation in maternal care. 📌 The scheme was officially launched on June 9, 2016, by PM Modi.

✅NITI Aayog Releases Report on Regulatory Framework for India’s Professional Services Sector. 👉In August 2026, the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) released a 3rd report under its Services Thematic  series, titled “India’s Services Sector: Insights on Regulatory Regime in Professional Services”,  providing the assessment of  India’s regulatory framework for professional services. 👉The report was formally launched by Ashok Kumar Lahiri, Vice Chairperson of NITI Aayog, at a meeting of the High-Powered ‘Education to Employment and Enterprise’ Standing Committee held in New Delhi, Delhi. 👉Key Findings: Aim: To identify challenges and policy measures to strengthen the professional services sector and unlock the potential of India’s skilled Contribution to 👉Services Exports: As per the report, Professional services account for nearly 1/4th (25%) of India’s total services exports.

👉Funding Pattern: It is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS). The Funding Pattern between Central and states are: 👉90:10 for Himalayan and North-East (NE) states 👉100% by central government for Union Territories (UTs) 👉50:50 for other states

✅Jal Jeevan Mission Completes 7 years: Rural Tap Coverage Rises from 16.7% to over 82% On August 15 2026, the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) launched by the Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS) completed seven years of implementation, with rural tap-water coverage rising to over 15.91 crore (Cr) households. 👉More than 2 lakh villages across the country have now been declared as ‘Har Ghar Jal’ certified under the JJM. 👉About Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM): Objective: The JJM launched by Prime Minister(PM) Narendra Modi on 15 August 2019 aims to provide Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) to every rural household by 2024, targeting 55 litres per person per day. 👉The Union Cabinet later extended the JJM deadline to December 2028, ensuring comprehensive water supply infrastructure. 👉Implementation: The mission is implemented by the Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS), specifically under the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation(DDWS).

✍️ The Government of India has approved the continuation of the River Basin Management (RBM) Scheme for the period 2026–27 to 2030–31 with a significantly increased outlay of ₹2,183 crore. 👉 The River Basin Management (RBM) Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme by the Ministry of Jal Shakti that promotes integrated, basin-level planning to ensure the sustainable use, protection, and development of India's surface and groundwater resources 👉 It shifts water governance from localized projects to a basin-level approach, treating entire river systems—including tributaries, groundwater, and ecosystems—as a single hydrological unit. ▪️ The National Water Development Agency (NWDA) has identified 30 river link projects ▪️ Target Basins: Prioritizes transboundary and strategically important basins, including the Brahmaputra, Barak, Teesta, and Indus.

✍️ The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has introduced revised guidelines for the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Scheme, bringing greater uniformity to agricultural lending by standardising the definition of crop seasons. The move is aimed at ensuring consistency in the sanctioning of loans and determining repayment schedules across the banking system. 👉 The new framework, titled the RBI Commercial Banks – Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Scheme Directions, 2026, will come into effect from January 1, 2027. 👉 On collateral and margin requirements, the RBI has directed banks to waive both collateral security and margin requirements for agricultural loans, including those extended for allied activities, up to Rs. 2 lakh per borrower. 👉 For loan amounts exceeding Rs. 2 lakh, banks will have the flexibility to determine collateral and margin requirements in accordance with their internal credit policies, while remaining compliant with RBI regulations and prudential norms.

✅L&T to Set Up India’s Largest Nvidia B300 AI Factory in Chennai for Together AI 👉In August 2026, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), through its Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure arm LTN Compute and data centre business Vyoma.AI, secured a Rs 10,000–15,000 crore order to build India’s largest single-cluster NVIDIA B300 AI factory at its Chennai data centre campus, Chennai, Tamil Nadu (TN), for United States of America (USA)-based Together AI (Together Computer, Inc.) 👉The facility will deploy 10,000 NVIDIA B300 Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) to power large-scale Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads including training, inference, and fine-tuning on Together AI’s cloud platform.
