  • 💡“It is desirable to fast in al-Muharram, but it is not obligatory” ▫️▫️▫️

  • ▫️Virtue of fasting in al-Muharram ▫️Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The best fast after Ramadan is in the month of Allah al-Muharram .” (Narrated by Muslim, 1982) ▫️The phrase “the month of Allah (shahr Allah)” is indicative of the veneration this month deserves, as it is attributed to Allah (in a genitive or idafah phrase). Al-Qari said: What appears to be the case is that what is meant is the entire month of al-Muharram. ▫️But the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) never fasted any month in full apart from Ramadan. So this hadith is to be understood as meaning that it is encouraged to fast a great deal during the month of al-Muharram , not to fast the entire month. ▫️The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) fasted a great deal during Sha‘ban, and perhaps the virtue of al-Muharram was not revealed to him until the end of his life, before he was able to fast during this month. (Sharh an-Nawawi ‘ala Sahih Muslim) ▫️Allah chooses whatever He wills of times and places ▫️Al-‘Izz ibn ‘Abd as-Salam (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Superiority of times and places is of two types, the first of which is in worldly terms and the second is in religious or spiritual terms because of what Allah bestows upon His slaves at those times and in those places of a greater reward for deeds, such as the greater virtue of fasting Ramadan over fasting in other months or on the day of ‘Ashura. Its virtue is due to Allah’s generosity and kindness to His slaves during it.” (Qawa‘id al-Ahkam, 1/38) ▫️And Allah knows best. 📎 https://islamqa.info/en/204142 ▫️▫️▫️

  • ▫️⬆️▫️ ▫️Why al-Muharram is given this name ▫️Al-Muharram is so called because it is a sacred (muharram) month; this further emphasizes its sanctity. ▫️The words of Allah (interpretation of the meaning): “so wrong not yourselves therein” [Surat at-Tawbah 9:36] mean: (do not wrong yourselves) in these sacred months, because doing so is a greater sin than at other times. ▫️Ibn 'Abbas said, concerning the words of Allah “so wrong not yourselves therein” [Surat at-Tawbah 9:36]: (The command not to wrong yourself) applies in all months, then Allah singled out four months and made them sacred, and emphasized their sanctity, and He made sin during these months more grave, and He made righteous deeds and the reward thereof greater. Qatadah said, concerning the words “so wrong not yourselves therein”: Wrongdoing during the sacred months is more serious and incurs a greater burden of sin than in other months. Wrongdoing is a serious matter in any circumstances, but Allah makes whatever He wills of His commands carry more weight. And he said: Allah has chosen elites from His creation: from among the angels He chose Messengers, from among mankind He chose Messengers, from among speech He chose remembrance of Him (dhikr), from among spaces on earth He chose the mosques, from among the months He chose Ramadan and the sacred months, from among days He chose Friday (Jumu‘ah), and from among nights He chose Laylat al-Qadr. So venerate that which has been chosen by Allah, for people of understanding and wisdom respect that which has been chosen by Allah.” (Tafsir Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him), commentary on Surat at-Tawbah verse 36) ▫️⬇️▫️

  • ▪️▪️ ▫️Question What is the virtue of the month of Muharram? ▫️Answer Praise be to Allah. 🔹Virtues of al-Muharram ▫️The month of Allah, al-Muharram, is a great and blessed month. It is the first month of the Hijri year and is one of the sacred months concerning which Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Verily, the number of months with Allah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are Sacred, (i.e. the 1st, the 7th, the 11th and the 12th months of the Islamic calendar). That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein.” [Soourat at-Tawbah 9:36]. ▫️Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “… The year is twelve months, of which four are sacred: three consecutive months, Dhu al-Qa‘dah, Dhu al-Hijjah and al-Muharram, and Rajab of Mudar which comes between Jumada and Sha‘ban.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari, 2958) ▫️⬇️▫️

  • 3 – 🕋 Doing Hajj and ‘Umrah One of the greatest deeds that can be done during these ten days is Hajj to the sacred House of Allaah. Whoever Allaah helps to go on Hajj to His House and do the rituals in the required manner will – in sha Allaah – be included in the words of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “An accepted Hajj brings no less a reward than Paradise.” 4 – ◽️Udhiyah (sacrifice). ⤵ 📩🎁Let us hasten to make the most of these great days, before the negligent regrets what he did, and before he asks to go back and receives no response.

  • 2 – 🕌Reciting tahmeed, tahleel and takbeer a great deal It is Sunnah to recite takbeer (saying Allaahu akbar (Allaah is greater )), tahmeed (saying al-hamdu Lillah (praise be to Allaah)), tahleel (saying Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah (There is no deity worthy of worship except Allaah )) and tasbeeh (saying Subhaan-Allaah (Glory be to Allaah)), during the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, saying these words out loud in the mosques, homes, streets and every place in which it is permissible to remember Allaah, to perform this act of worship openly and proclaim the greatness of Allaah. Men should recite out loud and women should recite quietly. the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are no days that are greater before Allaah or in which good deeds are more beloved to Him, than these ten days, so recite a great deal of tahleel, takbeer and tahmeed during them.” Narrated by Ahmad With regard to Takbeer on (Eid al-) Adhaa, it is prescribed from the beginning of the month until the end of the thirteenth day of Dhu’l-Hijjah, The takbeer is as follows: Allaahu akbar, Allaahu akbar, laa ilaaha ill-Allaah, Allaahu akbar, Allaahu akbar, wa Lillaahi’l-hamd (Allaah is greater , Allaah is greater, there is no deity worthy of worship except Allaah, Allaah is greater, Allaah is greater, and all praise be to Allaah).  Or you can say Allaahu akbar three times, so you say:  Allaahu akbar, Allaahu akbar, Allaahu akbar, laa ilaaha ill-Allaah, Allaahu akbar, Allaahu akbar, Allaahu akbar, wa Lillaahi’l-hamd (Allaah is greater, Allaah is greater, Allaah is greater, there is no deity worthy of worship except Allaah, Allaah is greater, Allaah is greater, Allaah is greater, and all praise be to Allaah).  ✅And there are other versions. ......... The time of the Takbeer The takbeer is divided into two categories: 1 – Takbeer at any time. This is takbeer that is not limited to a specific time, and it is Sunnah to say it all the time, morning and evening, before prayer and after prayer, at all times. 2 – Takbeer at certain times. This is takbeer that is limited to the time immediately after prayer. 🌷⏹ With regard to at certain times, it starts from Fajr on the day of ‘Arafah and lasts until the sun sets on the last day of the days of Tashreeq, in addition to the takbeer that may be recited at any time. So when a person says the tasleem at the end of the obligatory prayer, he should pray for forgiveness (by saying Astaghfir-Allaah) three times, and say, “Allaahumma anta al-salaam wa minka al-salaam, tabaarakta yaa dhaa’l-jalaali wa’l-ikraam (“O Allaah, You are al-Salaam [the One Who is free from all defects and deficiencies), and from You is all peace, blessed are You, O possessor of majesty and honour)”, then start the takbeer. This is for those who are not on Hajj. The pilgrims should start the takbeer recited after prayer from Zuhr on the Day of Sacrifice (the 10th of Dhu’l-Hijjah).

  • #فضائل_العشر_الأوائل_من_شهر_ذي_الحجة_الأعمال_الصالحة_التي_يستحب_الإكثار_منها_العشر_من_ذي_الحجة Arabic Terms: ·       Du’a – supplication, prayer, asking Allah for something. ·       Eid ul-Fitr – Muslim celebration at the end of Ramadan. ·       Eid ul-Adha – “Feast of the Sacrifice”. ·       Hajj – A pilgrimage to Mecca where the pilgrim performs a set of rituals.   The Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam, which every adult Muslim must undertake at least once in their life if they can afford it and are physically able. ·       Dhul-Hijjah – the name of the 12th month of the Islamic lunar calendar. ·       Yaum ul-Arafah – Day of Arafah when pilgrims gather at a place called Arafah. ·       Al-Ayyam ul-Ashr – The Ten Days of Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah. Are the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah more special than other days? What are the righteous deeds that it is recommended to do a lot of during these ten days❓ 💎Among the great seasons of worship are the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, which Allaah has favoured over other days. It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allaah than these ten days.” They said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allaah?” He said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allaah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari So the Muslim should start these days with sincere repentance to Allaah, then he should do a lot of righteous deeds in general, then he should pay attention to doing the following deeds: 1 –🌴 Fasting It is Sunnah for the Muslim to fast on the first nine days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) encouraged us to do righteous deeds in the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, and fasting is one of the best of deeds, which Allaah has chosen for Himself as it says in the hadeeth qudsi: “Allaah says: ‘All the deeds of the son of Adam are for him, except fasting, which is for Me and I shall reward for it.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari "It is recommended to fast on the first nine days of Dhu’l-Hijjah but not obligatory".
