ICAI Examination Department 📅 30 July 2026 Surrender of Exemption ____ Important Announcement 📢 The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has introduced an on-line facility to apply for the surrender of exemption obtained (including Permanent Exemption) 🔄. This on-line facility aligns with our continuing commitment to improve the examination process, making it more accessible to the candidates. Candidates who wish to surrender the exemption obtained may do so on the SSP dashboard under Exam Functions, using login credentials as per the below cut-off dates:⏳ For CA Intermediate, September 2026 Exam: - 5th August 2026 For CA Final November 2026 Exam: - 30th September 2026 (CA. ✅Making an Exemption(s) Permanent Please understand that 1. Only exemptions secured in May 2025 exams are allowed to be made permanent this time. [For November 2026 Exams] 2. At the time before May 2026 exams, Only exemptions secured in November 2024 exams were allowed to be made permanent. 2.1. At the time before May 2027 exams, Only exemptions secured September 2025 exams will be allowed to be made permanent. 3. Exemptions secured in November 2024 or earlier attempts have already been lapsed if not made permanent last time & have no further implications. 4. An exemption can only be made permanent after 3 attempts of getting the same, but before the immediate next (4th) attempt. 5. All the above rules won't change Irrespective of whether or not you had filled / will be going to fill the exam form or not. 6. All EXEMPTION RULES WORK SEPARATELY FOR EACH OF THE GROUPS. 7. After Making an exemption permanent, YOU WILL HAVE TO SCORE MINIMUM 50 MARKS IN EACH SUBJECT OF THAT GROUP. In such case, marks above 150 in 1 group will be available for setoff for another group. Exemptions related FAQ- A student got exemption in FR in prev attempt and now gets in AFM, what would be the options available with student? Answer: Only FR is valid exemption.
