  • I find myself telling people things they don’t want to hear daily. And often, I don’t want to tell them… So what I do is give them a compliment sandwich within the conversation. Think of things that they do well at and tell them. Then, I criticize what I want them to change in the middle. As I end the conversation, I always bring up how much I appreciate them and how big of a future I see together with them. You’d be surprised at how well this works.

  • In two hundred years they will laugh at us. Fighting, killing each other over oil. Not collectively coming together to figure out why we are flying through space on a fucking rock. Wild.

  • Anything past 18 or 19 years old, you have to go on your own journey. Your parents had a lifetime to get their shit together. Now it's your turn. Not only for yourself... But for your future wife and children.

  • You're always going to have problems. One of my favorite quotes is, "You can tell the size of a man by the size of his problems." Either you won't be able to pay your light bill, or you'll have a $100,000 payroll. You should aim to create problems that are worth having. It's all in proportion to what you can handle. Often, when something stressful happens, you can say, "That's my kind of problem." There was one day when I received a phone call from my office that said, "Justin, we have too much work. We hired two more crews, but we're out of trucks. We need to buy two more trucks pretty much today." That's an expensive problem... But I would rather have that problem. I wouldn't want my office to tell me we don't have enough work or revenue coming in. You should approach all of your problems in that way. You will always have them.

  • Become a person that people want to get behind. The best way to achieve this is by spending quality time with them. You want to get to a level where you can confidently say, "Hey, that's bullshit." But they still love you even after hearing it. I once took my online, real estate, and construction team to a beach house in Florida. We were situated just 30 yards from the waves on the beach. During those 5-6 days, we all worked and discussed business. It created a stronger bond between my teams, and we had an incredible time together. When your team knows that you care for them, They will trust you enough to engage in honest conversations without having them think that you will fire them. For example, you can send a text message saying, "What are we doing with these calls? This is unacceptable. What's holding us back from getting more?" You are expressing care and addressing your concerns with the business.

  • Some of the most impressive people you know of, earn their life around in a year - 18 months. They went from zero to just "boom" overnight. Success overnight is earned with long-term consistency

  • I lie often. The mind is a tricky place, confusing and dark Multiple times a week, I find myself in the throes of an internal battle I’m undefeated. Execution is as simple as lying. Lying to your bitch voice. “We’re just going to do a couple of sets and leave.” “We will start the email and leave it as a draft.” LIES. Learn to lie to the bitch inside of you. If you don’t, you will become a bitch.

  • I don’t really like talking about my childhood that much. What’s more important is to make sure you get on track to where you’re going. NOT looking in the rearview mirror and reminiscing where you’ve been. Put your truck in gear and look forward, cowboy.

  • Lost a friend or got your heart broken? GOOD, you needed it. I promise you it was a bandaid that needed to get ripped off. It's an excellent opportunity for you to grow. I hope there was pain, loneliness, and darkness involved in it. To clarify, I don't hope for bad things for you. I want you to experience being alone, having your back against the wall, and having no net. Once you go through it and succeed… You'll quickly be able to see how much you can trust yourself. And when you trust yourself… Your ability to push, take risks, and lead people through hard times levels up 10X. If you're going through this now, know it's a GIFT. I hope you get the most out of it because you're the king of your own life. It will be the best story you will tell once you become the man you always wanted to be.

  • No matter which level of society you operate at, problems will arise, You will either be struggling to pay your light bill or you’ll be pulling your hair out trying to figure out how to avoid paying millions of dollars in taxes to the IRS. Which problem would you rather have?

  • NEVER, EVER…. put down your friends in front of women. Don’t get me wrong, it’s perfectly fine to do it behind closed doors when it’s just the boys. But the moment women are in the mix, shut that down. It makes both you and your friend look super unattractive and unappealing.

  • People in my circles often say I have a fast trigger finger when it comes to making decisions. They’re wrong... What often looks like a snap decision from me comes after months of meticulously looking at every option, every angle, and every outcome.

  • Behind every success story is the struggle that it took to reach it. Don’t think life is always going to be easy. You want to get challenged. That’s where the growth is.
