Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy Attends 80th Indian Independence Day Celebrations at Consulate General of India, Seattle Seattle, USA — August 15, 2026: The Consulate General of India in Seattle hosted a grand celebration to mark the 80th Independence Day of India, bringing together an eminent gathering of dignitaries, community leaders, and distinguished guests. Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy ji was invited as a distinguished guest on this momentous occasion. Also present among the notable dignitaries were renowned cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, Srini Gopalan, CEO of T-Mobile, and Anand Eshwaran, CEO of Veeam Software, among other prominent guests. Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy Delivers Distinguished Lecture at University of Washington, Seattle On the August 14, 2026, the University of Washington welcomed Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy ji for a distinguished lecture on "The Relevance of Ancient Indian Wisdom and the Guru Tradition in the Modern World," held at the Petersen Room, University of Washington Libraries. Zhijia Shen, Director of Library Global Engagement, welcomed Dr. Satpathy ji, Consul General of India Shri Prakash Gupta, and other distinguished guests to the event. Remarks followed from Donna Niell, Director of UW Global Marketing & Communications, and Prof. Chan Lu, Chair of the Department of Asian Languages & Literature. Mr. Layman Lei also addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude to Dr. Satpathy ji for his literary work Shri Guru Bhagwat, the first volume of which Mr. Lei has translated into Mandarin. Temple trustees and devotees welcomed Guruji Dr. Satpathy ji with traditional rituals as he arrived at the temple. He proceeded to offer prayers to Shirdi Saibaba, setting the tone for an evening steeped in devotion and reflection. Devotees present at the temple joined together in reciting the Shri Guru Bhagwat prayer. The celebration drew an overwhelming congregation, with devotees traveling from across the United States and India to receive Gurujee's darshan and listen to his discourse. The event was organized by 'Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy Humanitarian Community Development Foundation of Americas' and graced by the divine presence of Guruji Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy, Dr. Satpathy ji's lifelong message of humanitarian service and spiritual harmony served as the guiding inspiration for the evening. This event was attended by distinguished Civic and Community Leadership and representatives of the interfaith community, reflecting the strong spirit of inclusion and community partnership that defined the evening. Mayor Stephen Thompson, City of Cottleville, Missouri and Member, University of Missouri Extension Council mentioned about importance of having such opportunities where communities come together and celebrate. Gary Budoor, Chesterfield City Council Member (Ward IV), Patricia Tocco, Chesterfield City Council Member (Ward II) and Representatives from local interfaith and community organizations attended the event.
