Oh, sorry, I forgot to correct the previous Telegram post as I did on my other socials. Turns out that Marshall Lawson is running for the GOP nomination for the Florida State Legislature's 10th House district, a district that votes Republican. His opponent only raised 30% more money than he did, so apparently he has a good chance of becoming a state legislator. I'd much rather see proponents of secession, as he is, in the state legislatures than in Congress. The state legislature is key for unilateral secession.

Florida primaries are in 8 days. This leading, well-funded candidate for GOP nomination for US House is being criticized in a newspaper for his advocacy for a National Divorce. FL-10 (Orlando) is a D+13 district though. On his campaign website homepage, he touts his efforts to protect Confederate monuments. Are Southern heritage bros going to promote him as much as this newspaper is trying to bury him?

Great opportunity for secession every time there's a failed (disputed) election. Let the blue states have their president and we in the red states can have our own president.

I bring these two up as just a few examples of the Washington family siding with the Confederacy. The most famous example of course being Lees wife Mary. Another one of George Washington’s great nephews was Colonel Lewis William Washington. He was actually taken hostage by John Brown in 1859 but was rescued by Lee. He’d join the Confederacy and serve as an aide de camp to General Johnston. He was the great grandson of Washington’s half brother Augustine.

Lt Colonel John Augustine Washington III, aide de Camp Robert E Lee. He was also the great grand nephew of George Washington. He was the last Washington to own Mount Vernon and would be wounded in battle at Cheats Mountain. He’d later die of his injuries. His death would be celebrated by spiteful Yankee press as “deserved for treason” while he was mourned by Lee. Lee would keep a letter Washington 3 had written him for the rest of the war.
