Back in 2016-2017, my acquaintance was trading ETH; at that time, the price was around $15, as I recall, and possibly even lower. He was making good money, you could say, a lot of it, but we learned a huge lesson from this experience: HOLD > Trade Not because he was getting wiped out in every bearish phase, not because he was getting too little in the moment, but because he was getting too little over the long term, despite putting in a huge effort. Maybe holding isn't such an interesting idea, not for someone who wants everything at once, but the profit that could be missed while the money is "temporarily in fiat" will seem like a massive failure. Just take the same example from 2017, a price of $15, and a deposit of $1000 (the numbers are, of course, hypothetical). I don't know how much you could have traded from that moment to 2021, which, by the way, wasn't a record-breaking year for the price, but let's assume a x10 increase in the deposit, which is already pretty impressive. The result from trading would be $10000. But if those ETH had just been sitting in a wallet, the amount would have been x10 of what was already multiplied by 10, ~ $110000.
