That matters for $BTC and $ETH through a simple transmission chain: Higher energy prices → higher inflation risk → tighter rate expectations → stronger pressure on liquidity-sensitive assets. Crypto does not trade in isolation from the cost of energy or the price of money. A sustained oil shock can affect inflation expectations, Treasury yields, the U.S. dollar and ultimately the discount rate investors apply to risk assets.
