🚨🇫🇷 Marine Le Pen will be eligible to run in the 2027 presidential election – but while wearing an electronic tag RN leader @MLP_officiel has been sentenced on appeal to three years’ imprisonment, including two years suspended and one year to be served under home detention with an electronic tag. She has also been fined €100,000 and banned from holding elected office for 45 months, with 30 months of that ban suspended. As the disqualification period has already been served, she will be eligible to stand in the next French presidential election. However, if elected, she would have to campaign while wearing an electronic tag. Speaking on LCI last week, she said that if she were sentenced to home detention with an electronic tag, she would rule out running for president.
