In May 2023, 24-year-old James Lewis Spencer k..il.. . led convicted sex offender Sean Connery Showers because he believed police were not doing enough to keep s.. ex off.. . . enders behind bars. The pair talked online with Spencer posing as a child. Showers agreed to meet Spencer for se.. . x under the impression that he was a child. However, Spencer ambushed Showers and gunned him down from his car. Spencer’s girlfriend told police: “He wanted to rob and harm those type of men because they would do bad things to little children and other people and he knew how to track them by an app on the phone”. Six Georgia inmates on work detail saved a deputy sheriff who had collapsed unconscious. Although they could have taken his gun and fled with the work van, they used the deputy's phone to call 911. On September 14_ 1997_ an F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter aircraft crashed during an airshow at the Chesapeake Air Show in Baltimore_ Maryland. The aircraft experienced a mechanical failure attributed to a malfunctioning hydraulic system_ which impaired flight control. The pilot_ Major Bryan Knight_ managed to eject safely just moments before the crash. On October 29th_ 1994 a man named Francisco Martin Duran opened fire on the White House in broad daylight with his SKS rifle_ and was able to fire around 24 rounds before being stopped and apprehended_ in an attempt to as.. sass..inate President Bill Clinton. A passerby named Harry Rakosky took the chance to tackle Fransisco while he was attempting to reload another magazine into his rifle. Secret Service_ along with a few other pedestrians shortly thereafter_ also jumped onto the gunman and he was arrested and was sent to prison for a 40 year term. While the gunman claimed an insanity defense_ the jury dismissed his defense and concluded he acted out of spite towards then President Bill Clinton and had general anti-government sentiment. Taken in 1967 by Rocco Morabito, this photo called “The Kiss of Life” shows a utility worker named J.D. Thompson giving mouth-to-mouth to co-worker Randall G. Champion after he went unconscious following contact with a high voltage line. They had been performing routine maintenance when Champion brushed one of the low voltage lines at the very top of the utility pole. His safety harness prevented a fall, and Thompson, who had been ascending below him, quickly reached him and performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. He was unable to perform CPR given the circumstances, but continued breathing into Champion’s lungs until he felt a slight pulse, then unbuckled his harness and descended with him on his shoulder. Thompson and another worker administered CPR on the ground, and Champion was moderately revived by the time paramedics arrived, eventually making a full recovery. What’s even more incredible is Champion not only survived this thanks to Thompson, but he lived an extra 35 years. He di.. ed in 2002 at 64 years old. Thompson is still alive today.
