Хочу поделиться ещё одной историей занятий с врачом. 👨‍⚕️ Но это не совсем Medical English, как может показаться с первого взгляда. Дело в том, что Фируз начал изучать английский не так давно, и его уровень - A2. Поэтому начинать сразу с медицинского английского было бы просто неэффективно. Я часто говорю своим ученикам медикам, что Medical English - это не отдельный язык, а надстройка над хорошим General English. Сначала нужен фундамент: научиться понимать речь, строить предложения, свободно выражать свои мысли. И только потом подключать медицинскую лексику, статьи и клинические случаи. Особенно приятно было услышать от Фируза: «Ты очень классно объясняешь. Всё понятно, поэтому учиться действительно приятно.» Наверное, именно такой атмосферой мне и хочется, чтобы запоминались мои уроки. Чтобы можно было спокойно ошибаться, задавать любые вопросы и получать удовольствие от процесса, а не просто «отрабатывать материал». И напоследок хочу порекомендовать страницы Фируза. 🤒 One small grammar difference that Russian speakers often miss. In Russian, we usually say "Я заболел" using a verb. In English, we normally use an adjective: ✅ I'm sick. ✅ I'm ill. Not a verb. And if you're talking about a diagnosis, use a noun: ✅ I have a disease. The word sick is also surprisingly versatile. When I was at medical university, our professors used to tell us that there was only one acceptable reason to miss a class: death. Well... maybe getting married, too. ❤️ I guess that's why I've never really seen birthdays, family celebrations, public holidays, or even a common cold, as a reason to cancel lessons. So if one day you notice that I'm unusually well dressed, there's a barbecue behind me, a green garden, or my relatives are singing around a guitar... ...chances are it's someone's birthday, and I've just stepped away for an hour to teach an English lesson. 🙂 To be honest, my family got used to it a long time ago.
