  • “Hunting in the Sky”: ZALA RSS «Lancet» Crew of the Sever Group in a Russia 24 Report Russia 24 TV channel presented a special report on the work of ZALA RSS «Lancet» crews of the Sever group of forces. Their effectiveness is based on the pairing of the Z-16 reconnaissance UAV and the RSS «Lancet» Lancet loitering munition, as well as the operators’ combat experience. The report shows unique technical solutions. An onboard machine-vision camera protects the Z-16 reconnaissance system from FPV interceptors: when a threat is detected, the UAV automatically performs an evasive maneuver — moving aside, banking, and diving down. Two maneuvers are enough to shake off pursuit. Operators also spoke about the ability to bypass enemy electronic-warfare systems. “ZALA has received a new function — bypassing enemy detection and electronic-warfare systems. In other words, we roughly know where this EW line is deployed along the front line, activate the mode, pass through it, then switch it off and continue flying in normal mode,” said an operator with the callsign “Kettle.” According to the operator, RSS «Lancet» can operate without satellite navigation, using interchangeable guidance modules and machine vision. Artificial intelligence searches for the target using the camera, while the operator can lock onto it from 5–6 km, activate combat mode — and the aircraft is guaranteed to reach the object. However, no matter how advanced the aircraft is, most of its capabilities are still determined by the person at the controls, the report’s author concludes. • ZALA T-16 UAVs Helped Kirov Police Identify 7 Poachers During the Spawning Season Officers of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Directorate for the Kirov Region used ZALA T-16 unmanned systems during preventive measures aimed at detecting illegal harvesting of aquatic biological resources during the 2026 spawning season. As a result of monitoring water bodies, 7 cases of illegal fishing were identified. ZALA systems made it possible not only to detect the offenders, but also to fully document their actions, establish the locations where nets were stored, and identify the points where they were set. The published UAV footage shows nets with catches being dropped and lifted from boats. Powerful zoom made it possible to observe the fishermen’s actions and the model of their vehicle, as well as to track their route from the water to the shore and their attempt to hide the catch. A key feature is the tracking of moving objects: the camera autonomously kept the boat in frame, even during sharp maneuvers. All data was transmitted to headquarters, enabling the coordination of ground teams. ZALA T-16 is a reliable tool for round-the-clock monitoring in hard-to-reach areas. Equipped with optics and a thermal imager, it operates in any weather, with a flight endurance of over 4 hours, while artificial intelligence helps patrol large water areas with limited personnel. Such technologies improve the effectiveness of anti-poaching efforts and the protection of biological resources. #ZALA #T16 #MVD
