💎 Shaykh Abū al-Faḍl Muḥammad al-Suwayʿī said: It may be understood from the speech of one whose knowledge is limited and who is ignorant of the methodology of the Salaf that hastening to declare others innovators (tabdīʿ) indicates strength in the methodology. This evil approach may also be adopted by someone who has good thoughts of him, and so he joins him in declaring others innovators, while they are inexperienced ignorants who are following the methodology of the Haddādiyyah. 💎 Shaykh Abū al-Faḍl Muḥammad al-Suwayʿī said: “The call to ‘correct the course’ is a flawed call. The Salafi daʿwah is sound and upright; it is not in need of your corrections. This was the very rhetoric that Abū al-Ḥasan [al-Maʾribī] used to claim, and it was also the rhetoric of those who, yesterday, were from among the Mumayyiʿīn who sat with the people of innovation — and perhaps some of them still do so to this day. Today, unfortunately, they have become the leaders and policymakers of the daʿwah. Tamyīʿ only occurred after a period of severity, just as Qatādah, may Allah have mercy on him, said: ‘Indeed, this Irjāʾ only emerged after the defeat of Ibn al-Ashʿath.’ (Reported by Ibn al-Jaʿd). Especially those who now claim that they are ‘correcting’ matters, when only a short time ago they were opponents themselves.
