  • Kindly share around so that Muslims in the English world will know about this early scholar and his work. May Allah replace with it the works of those whose creeds have been criticized.

📌 A concise yet powerful work explaining the importance of adhering to the Sunnah and distancing oneself from innovation. It clarifies the path of the early generations and refutes the deviations of those who strayed from it.

  • Part of man’s leadership (qiwāmah) is that he strengthens his wife’s religious commitment: he corrects her creed, enriches her language, monitors her hijab, asks her about her daily supplications and prayers, and elevates her above trivial matters so that he does not enter Paradise without her.

  • #aqeeah #ashaaris ʿUmar ibn Ibrāhīm (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The slaughtered animals of the Ash‘arites are not lawful to eat, because they are neither Muslims nor People of the Book, and they do not affirm the Book of Allah on earth. Dham al-Kalām wa Ahlihi by al-Harawī (3/413)

  • ✍🏻 A corrupt interpretation (taʾwīl fāsid) that has no basis in the Arabic language, and concerns matters that are clear, well-known, and agreed upon and whose evidences are consistent, authentic, and explicit leaves no excuse for anyone who rejects them, whether he does so openly or through interpretation. Ḥabīb ibn al-Rabīʿ said: Claiming interpretation for an explicit text is not acceptable. 📚 (al-Shifā 2/217) And Imām Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb said: False interpretation in rejecting the texts is no excuse for its proponent, just as Allah did not excuse Iblīs for his false reasoning, nor those who oppose the revealed texts under the pretext of interpretation rather, such interpretation increases their disbelief. 📚 (al-Durar al-Saniyyah 13/170) #aqeedah #ashaaris

  • Did no scholar ever declare the Ashʿarīs disbelievers‼️ Many of those who attack those who declare the Ashʿarīs disbelievers rely on Shaykh Ibn ʿUthaymīn’s statement غفر الله له: “No one from Ahl al-Sunnah has expelled the Ashʿarīs from Islam.” Or other contemporaries statements similar to this one. Then, out of ignorance, they cling to this statement which is undoubtedly wrong and when they encounter someone who declares the Ashʿarīs disbelievers, they say, “No scholar has ever done that,” based on Ibn ʿUthaymīn’s words or this sheikh and this sheikh’s words. But the truth is that more than a thousand scholars did in fact declare them disbelievers‼️ 📚 Al-Harawī narrated in Dhamm al-Kalām (4/404): I heard Aḥmad ibn Ḥamzah and Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥaddād say: “We found Abū al-ʿAbbās Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad al-Nihāwandī opposing the people of kalām and declaring the Ashʿarīs disbelievers.” He also said: I heard Aḥmad ibn Ḥamzah say: When the estrangement between al-Nihāwandī and Abū al-Fawāris intensified, they asked Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Daynūrī, and he said: I met a thousand shaykhs who were upon what al-Nihāwandī was upon. So al-Nihāwandī used to declare them disbelievers, and there were a thousand scholars who agreed with him. Here are some of the names of those who declared them as disbelievers: - Al-Ḥāfiẓ Abū ʿAbd Allāh Ibn Mandah (d. 395H) - Abū al-ʿAbbās Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad al-Nihāwandī (d. 387H) - Al-Junayd ibn Muḥammad Abū Saʿd al-Khaṭīb (d. 410H) - Yaḥyā ibn ʿAmmār ibn al-ʿAnbas (d. 422H) - Abū al-Faḍl ʿUmar ibn Ibrāhīm al-Harawī (d. 425H) - Abū Naṣr al-Sijzī (d. 444H) - Abū Ṭāhir Miṭyār ibn Aḥmad al-Rustumī al-Iṣfahānī (d. 469H) - Ibn Ḥazm (d. 456H) - Abū Ismāʿīl al-Harawī (d. 481H) - Al-Sharīf Abū Jaʿfar ʿAbd al-Khāliq al-Hāshimī al-Ḥanbalī (d. 470H) - ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn ʿAbd al-Wāḥid (Ibn al-Ḥanbalī) (d. 536H) - Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Malik al-Karajī (d. 532H) - Al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad al-Khaṭīb (d. 538H) - Ibn Qudāmah al-Maqdisī (d. 620H) - Maḥmūd ibn Abī al-Qāsim al-Dashtī (d. 661H) - ʿAbd al-Sāṭir ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd al-Maqdisī (d. 679H) - Ibn Taymiyyah (d. 728H) who himself stated that he declared some of them disbelievers. - ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb (d. 1285H) - Sulaymān ibn Suḥmān al-Najdī (d. 1349H) Those who refuse to declare them disbelievers usually rely on two arguments⬇️: ⸻ First Argument: ”The Ashʿarīs did not deny all the divine attributes like the Jahmiyyah did, so they are not disbelievers, whereas the Jahmiyyah are, because they denied all attributes.” This argument is false 🚫 disbelief does not differ in degree; a little of it or a lot of it is the same. Ibn Baṭṭah al-ʿUkbarī said : Reflect, may Allah have mercy on you, on what the Jahmiyyah believed and argued for, for whoever has sound understanding knows that they aimed to nullify Lordship and Divinity… They said: “Allah has never spoken and will never speak,” thereby denying His knowledge, names, power, and all His attributes. Whoever nullifies one attribute has nullified all of them, just as whoever disbelieves in one letter of the Qur’an has disbelieved in all of it. 📚 (al-Ibānah al-Kubrā 6/193) ⸻ Second Argument: That the Ashʿarīs are excused due to interpretation (taʾwīl), and that interpretation prevents takfīr. This too is false 🚫 for two reasons: 📌 First: If this were accepted, then the Jahmiyyah should also not be declared disbelievers, since they too offered interpretations. Whoever studies the refutations of the early scholars, such as al-Dārimī’s Refutation, will see that the Ashʿarīs’ interpretations are identical to those of the Jahmiyyah — and sometimes even worse — such as their view about the Qur’an, which Ibn Abī al-ʿIzz, Ibn al-Qayyim, and Ibn Taymiyyah said was more unbelieving than that of the Muʿtazilah, and their statement that Allah is “neither inside the world nor outside it,” effectively making Him non-existent. 📌 Second: Not every interpreter (mutaʾawwīl) is excused; Quraysh were “interpreters,” Iblīs offered an interpretation, and so did the Qadariyyah.

  • 🖇Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Seven are (the persons) whom Allah will give protection with His Shade* on the Day when there will be no shade except His Shade (i.e., on the Day of Resurrection), and they are: A just ruler; a youth who grew up with the worship of Allah; a person whose heart is attached to the mosque; two persons who love and meet each other and depart from each other for the sake of Allah; a man whom a beautiful and high ranking woman seduces (for illicit relation), but he (rejects this offer by saying): 'I fear Allah'; a person who gives a charity and conceals it (to such an extent) that the left hand might not know what the right has given; and a person who remembers Allah in solitude and his eyes well up." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
