Btw, when market is in lower IV regime, credit spreads is what one should look for and if change of regime is confirmed from lower to higher, then and only then, one should start looking for naked option buying.

At the start of the DECEMBER Expiry Highest IV PGEL - IV: 34.37 (IVR: 23.01 & IVP: 6.60) Highest IVR SOLARINDS - IV: 25.21 (IVR: 38.35 & IVP: 9.76) Highest IVP MANAPPURAM - IV: 26.31 (IVR: 23.82 & IVP: 36.00) When I say PGEL has IV of 34.37, it means option chain is pricing in only 4.77% move in a week. So we need to understand here how stock showed tendency in past, thats where IVR and IVP comes in. In last 52W, current IV stands @ 23.01 Percentile i.e. in lower 3rd of volatility scale and only 6.6% of days in the last one year IV has been below the current IV levels. FnO universe has stocks from all segments from largecaps to smallcaps and out of which highest IVR @ 38.85, means near lower 3rd boundary of IV range over last one year & highest IVP @ 36 which only 36% of days in last one year IV has been below current IV. This is how you identify that current market is in low IV/volatility range and during low volatility, intraday stocks wont hold the gains/move neither will the big swing happen for positional. If you want to make money, either you have to be stock specific which are 3+ sigma moves during week and book profits before pullback starts or play for short-term (2-3 days) momentum swings for 2-4%. As traders into the markets, jyada bakbak karne se kuch nai hota. Understand the market scenarios, identify the opportunities, devise the game plan and execute the plan with perfection. When day is right, you can go aggressive, rest of the days stay clam and wait for right moment. Proper stock selection & watchlist building is the key, coz stocks from your pre-defined universe may note move or hold. You can keep looking for stocks which can move and make universe out of them. You need to identify 6+ Sigma stocks which is putting option chain in one-side skew. Example is #MUTHOOTFIN from last month (NOV 25 Expiry), if anyone wants to study how 6+ sigma stocks looks like.
