Lughnasadh, the midpoint between the Cancerian Solstice and Libran Equinox, takes place today, as the Sun reaches the middle of Leo, a date woven into the Celtic solar calendar, the 7th of August, one day before the infamous 8-8 or Lion's Gate. Written for, and published on, Cosmic Intelligence-Agency, I've reposted an article on the rise of this so-called 'portal' within the 'New Age' communities over the last 25-30 years, as an example of revisionism of much older celebrations. I acknowledge that as consciousness deepens, shifts and evolves, so too does our understanding of the multi-dimensionality of these sensitive passages in our geo-solar relationship and that perhaps these celebrations have more to them than what has been prior recorded. But I also wish to outline that if you are engaged in astral divinatory intention setting, then those practises are best served when in sync with actual 'cosmic' patterning and not merely hear-say alignments. The recent backward engineering of the Lions Gate 'gateway' to include the period of the 28th July - 12th August, and not just the 8th of August, is an example of an attempt to incorporate the 'supposed' Sun-Sirius conjunction, with the more accurate reality of the heliacal rising of Sirius ahead of the Sun (though again inaccurately stated due to the curvature of the Earth).
