We're really pleased to share another publication on the occasion of the 🌾International Day for Biological Diversity🐢 BOOK: Medicinal Flora of a Sacred Grove — Sidheswar Mundia, Cuttack Perched on the hills of Naraj along the banks of the Mahanadi River, the sacred grove of Shree Shree Sidheswar Temple is a living repository of biodiversity and tradition. This book documents the grove’s floral wealth, traditional medicinal knowledge and the cultural practices associated with Lord Shiva. Based on fieldwork from July 2025 to April 2026, it catalogues 162 plant species. A vital resource for researchers, conservationists and policymakers, this book highlights the urgent need to safeguard native flora and ecological heritage amid the rapid urbanization of Cuttack, the Silver City of India. Identification of grass species is a crucial component of wildlife and forest management. Keeping this in view, an effort has been made to prepare a pictorial handbook on the grass species of Odisha.
