Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Noni Madueke as they consider making an approach to Chelsea for the winger. Madueke, 23, has given his green light to the move but there have been no club-to-club talks yet. Statement from Thomas Partey’s lawyer: “Thomas Partey denies all charges against him. He has fully cooperated with the police and the prosecution throughout their three-year investigation. He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name. Due to ongoing legal proceedings, my client is unable to provide further comments.”

Former Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The offences are reported to have taken place between 2021-2022, the Metropolitan Police said. The charges involve three women with two counts of rape relating to one woman, three counts of rape in connection to a second woman and one count of sexual assault linked to a third woman. Mr Partey's contract with Arsenal ended on Monday after playing with team since 2020. BBC News has contacted the team for comment. Det Supt Andy Furphy, who is leading the investigation, said: "Our priority remains providing support to the women who have come forward. "We would ask anyone who has been impacted by this case, or anyone who has information, to speak with our team. Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu is leaving the club after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract. The Japan international is recovering from knee surgery having played just six minutes of football last season. Tomiyasu faces up to another five months out as he continues his rehabilitation from the operation he underwent in February. The 26-year-old missed the start of last season with a previous knee injury that also required surgery, in 2023. His existing deal was due to expire at the end of next season but BBC Sport has learned that Arsenal and Tomiyasu have reached a contractual settlement to end his contract. Gabriel Heinze to join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal coaching staff Heinze’s appointment comes after Carlos Cuesta departed the club to become Parma’s new head coach. Arteta and Heinze were team-mates at Paris Saint-Germain during the 2001-02 campaign. At the start of this season, Arteta spoke about his time at PSG, saying: “The other inspirations were (Mauricio) Pochettino and Heinze, those two were next to me all the time, behind me, and they were guiding me in everything I had to do in my professional life, how I had to understand the game and they were inspirational to me.” Heinze, 47, has held managerial roles at Argentine top-flight side Godoy Cruz, Major League Soccer (MLS) club Atlanta United and Newell’s Old Boys, the club where he started his career, since retiring from playing in 2014.
