William Potter Gale was NOT a jew Part 1 Part 2 Summary: A claim originating in Daniel Levitas’ The Terrorist Next Door asserts that William Potter Gale’s father, Charles Gale, was secretly born to Russian Jewish parents named Grabifker, emigrated via Scotland, lived in a Jewish colony in N. Dakota, and concealed his ancestry for life. This narrative relies on speculative links between unrelated individuals (Isaac Grabifker, Meier Isaac Gale, and Marcus Gale), an unsupported claim that his military record listed “Hebrew,” and an informant-written death record. Primary documents instead identify Charles Gale as born 2 March 1876 in Bismarck, N. Dakota, with parents from England and Scotland (1900, 1910, 1930 censuses; 1943 Social Security record), and show no immigration or naturalisation. Records also show Marcus Gale’s family separately identified as Polish/Russian Jews already living in N. Dakota years earlier, with no evidence connecting him to Charles. Charles Gale was an Anglo-Celtic American.
