Clarification on Browser Absence in Vanilla Builds Halcyon is built on a foundation of neutrality and strict minimalism. Our goal with the Vanilla variant is to provide a clean, unburdened canvas, allowing you to shape your device exactly how you see fit. Bundling a pre-installed browser in this specific build conflicts with that philosophy. While our GMS builds naturally include Google Chrome as part of the standard Google ecosystem, the Vanilla build is designed for absolute user autonomy. A common question we face is why we do not ship alternative options like Brave or Firefox instead. The answer is simple: doing so would compromise our commitment to neutrality by forcing a specific ecosystem decision onto you. Furthermore, while lightweight options like LineageOS Jelly fulfill a basic function, they rarely provide the experience expected of a modern daily driver. To maintain the integrity of our minimalist roots, Halcyon Vanilla builds will remain entirely browser-free out of the box. We believe the choice of how you access the web should belong entirely to you, from the very first boot.

Choosing the Right Build We provide two separate ZIP formats. Using the wrong one for your method will fail: • For Recovery: Download the file starting with ota-halcyon_xxxxxx.zip. • For Fastboot Mode: Download the file starting with fastboot-halcyon_xxxxxx.zip. The Easiest Method: Web Flasher We highly recommend using our Web Flasher to simplify the process. Please take the time to read. Being careful now saves you from a bricked device and saves the community from answering questions that shouldn't be asked in the first place.
